In Mile's first season, we got a glimpse of what was to come. Fact is, Miles is not in the game - he gets distracted and is slow to think ahead. If he's thinking ahead, he's thinking about a gimmick play. I remember a tv sideline view of a game in year one (sorry dont' remember the one) but the camera was on Miles. He was still dwelling on what had happened on the previous play and behind him I could see two assistant coaches all signaling for a time out running towards Miles to get his attention. Miles was still in a fog and finally he looked back at his own coaches, looked startled and then started calling for a time out. I counted off three full seconds and was stunned that he was so out of it that his instinct wasn't natural.
I thought Red was going to have to call this thread The Bad and The Ugly. He had to dig deep to find any good. It looked like an LSU team last night--from the 90's. Everything about our team in this game sucked.
Yea, and both QB's did it because of the treatment mentally. Harris was missing everything High. That was clearly nerves. The coaches could have called very EASY throws to start the game to build his confidence. Instead, they called 3 pass plays in the 1st half. 3. It doesn't matter what you try to say, doing that to either QB is just BAD COACHING. You DIRECTLY put them in a situation to fail.
Little girl, don't let the smoke get in your way. The final score and ultimate domination makes it hard to see but there were some good things happening too. We ran the ball for 6 + yards on first down all the first half. On 3rd and short, play-action would've been money HAD OUR COACHES called it. We also shut Auburn's run game down up the middle on first and second down. THAT was my biggest concern coming into this game.
They both bailed way too early because they gave running QBs long passes down field instead of developing a short game first. . Our game plan was worse than it was against miss St. . I didn't think it was possible. Les is close to ruining 2 young QBs psyches in a matter of a game and a half.
Here's the thing. We have the wrong qb's for the offense we run. The one time our offense shined was when a pocket guy was the qb. Yes Harris has a huge arm but is as accurate as a drunk trying to piss in the toilet.
