BTW, I just got 5 notices from the State Police Commander that used to be in charge of LSU security detail. It seems the state of LA. "wants" several thousand dollars from me for ....................moving. They seem to think I canceled my car insurance on 4 cars, I did, like all good citizens do when they MOVE to another state, cancel, re-register, get a new license and insurance. When I called the OMV that this shithead now runs, they said "their records" say I did not reregister until 2004........11 years after I moved. Why would I keep a car registered in a state that is 500-1000 more per car in insurance. TBD.........it's extortion, nothing else, it's a "money grab" by a bankrupt state. Seems they spent 500K of taxpayer money seniding out 1.2 million notices, many to people like me!
There was a big story on the news about that the other day. If you can prove you reinsured your car in states you moved to you should have no problem getting this stuff dismissed.
I got one of those letters too. I dont live there anymore. I am sending my info in this week and will also be in town during thanksgiving. I dont expect anything to get done, but I will have proof. If they try and ruin my credit, I will take them DOWN!
I know, but we should all have some legal room for action here. I shouldn't even have to dig up this shit. Makes the state look very poorly managed. Digging up shit on people from 10-15 years ago that is just wrong? How many old ladies are going to pay the fine because they dont know any-better?
