And you kind of relentlessly blame Miles for everything you can imagine. Who cares? I make my points, you make yours.
Probably should have said 99%. But my point was: 1) we aren't severely outclassed by even the great Bama 2) lesser teams beat better teams all the time because raw talent isn't the only factor that goes into a ball game 3) 5 straight losses is appalling. Getting skull drug last night (and not for the first time vs Bama) is inexcusable. Les made it very clear during the week he realizes this isn't just another game. If he realizes that, how the fuck do you explain that repeat pitiful performance. 4) Harris has been hot/cold all season. You are surprised that continued at Bama and call him out for it? Harris mostly played within himself. Our line and our coaches got whipped.
LSU was down 20 with 10 minutes left in the game, had the ball at midfield, and punted on 4th and 8. Did this drive anyone else insane? LSU had a glimmer of a chance to get back into the game there, and punting just says to me, "We're giving up, and just want to maybe keep the score respectable."
This is last night in a nutshell. I could praise Miles and everyone else if we had been in the game to the end. But other than the second quarter sequence where we got 10 points in back-to-back possessions, Bama was far and a way the better team. Their talent isn't that much better than ours, but our coaching staff got taken to school. Problem is, the next time we are in a similar situation, it will become clear that our coaches weren't taking notes.
Based on what? They have had higher recruiting rankings, more all-conference players, and have won five in a row. It happens, but not "all the time". It is pretty rare for most teams to beat Bama or Ohio State, or LSU for that matter. Sure it is. Firing Les is not the answer. So did our quarterback. I called out a lot of people, why are you pretending that Harris is a top quarterback? He is very average by any way you want to measure a quarterback. He does not get a pass just because you hate Les.
See that's the thing though. Les is the problem, he is the solution for everything else, but he's the problem against Alabama. His pig headedness has him believing that it was the team that wasn't prepared. Nothing to do with the gameplan. If these 2 teams had a bye week this coming week and played each other in 2 weeks again you would see the EXACT same game plan.
And will continue to expect the 6 million dollar man to be responsible for it all, even for when his players struggle. These young men are still learning the game and giving it their all. If this was the first or tenth WTF moment out of Miles, I might agree with you. It's more than that whether you want to accept it or not. Miles can steady this ship and still have a very good season. My mind says it's possible. But my heart ain't with Miles right now, and I don't think I'm the only LSU fan who feels this way. I've spoken with defenders of Les who have been shaken to the core this season. But not you.
