or , next week. the season's not over. Bama has an SEC loss like us. they may lose another one. MSU could beat them next week. if they do, and we win out, we are in the SECCG. that's a very possible, albeit not likely, scenario. that's what I mean about staying positive and not whining. i'm not excusing CLMs style/strategy, just dealing with it, moving on and trying to focus on positives. it is what successful people do, you know?
red, everyone sees the incomplete passes, backs being hit in the backfield, etc. I just think that a lot of the "why" we played/looked so bad is the position the coaches put our players in. Our game plan was so predictable, again. I'd love to know how many hours bama spent watching and knew what we were going to do. Miles did not disappoint them. Where was misdirection, swing passes, bubble screens, jet sweeps??? We tried to run it between the tackles but never changed even when we weren't even making it to the LOS. When you step in a pile of shit on the way to the barn, it's okay but if you step in it on the way back there's something fucking wrong.
Wasn't surprised at all tbh. Nullifies the entirety of it. Harris wasn't great but he was the reason we were tied with a few seconds before the half which felt like a miracle. Harris and the offense had it figured out in the 2q it seems - and the coaching. Then what happens. Harris throws a pick and Les goes into his shell banging his head up the gut running out the clock down 20. Accepts the ass raping. Was over at that point.
while I will readily admit they are "better than use", that's not the angle I was going for. we played soft and scared. and that is becoming our MO in these games. we let them bring the game to use and dictate how the game would be played. more often than not if talent level is even remotely similar you're gonna lose with that mindset. in the games we've won, it wasn't just better talent that won for us. it was LSU enforcing its will on its opponent. last night, we got no push on either side of the line. and that ultimately made it not only a loss, but one that wasn't even competitive. you'll never convince me that Bama's trenches are so much better than LSU's that we couldn't open a single running lane on offense or blow up a single running play on defense. they played confident, we played scared. anyone who thinks "gameday" coaching was the difference is either fooling themselves or blind. this game was lost before the opening coin toss.
Play calling was UGLY. Did I put Harris in UGLY? No, I put him in the bad along with the rest of the bad, which you don't seem to recognize happened. We have player issues, too. Lots of them.
Their crowd was a factor too. I could see Harris having a hard time with signal communication to offense when we got the two delays.
