    Well your prediction may have been close, but the game didn't need to be. Watch it and you'll agree.

    Just watch the first half, unless you want to break something in your home, and if that's the case go ahead and watch the 2nd.

    What am I missing here? The Ferrari ran for 159 yards! 5.7 yards a carry! He's not going to break for a first down on every play, amigo. Cameron will try plays to test a defense and some of those will be stopped short. It's football. We adjust and post 266 rushing yards. I get the Ferrari analogy, but what wall?

    "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" -- Brandon Harris on whether he should have thrown more passes.

    Well, players are going to go with the team concept in interviews. As individuals . . . of course the quarterbacks and receivers always want to pass more. The linemen and the running backs always want to run more. It has always been this way.

    What do you expect him to say Red? I really wish coach would let me throw the ball more? So he can bench him for saying that. Harris is a good kid and he is going to play the good soldier. But imagine just for a second, LSU playing against a team that has to wonder if we are going to throw it? Fuck LF7's average per carry would be 9 yards, he'd have less carries and have less wear and tear.

    @red55

    Do you really think LSU can win every game this year doing what we did last night?

    Miles did that in 2011 and it cost LSU a title.

    I mean, its his only real flaw.

    You being so "logical" all the time should be able to understand that a 80% run offense is not a good philosophy.

    You can use LF7 in far more ways that just having him run up the middle every other play.

    Harris got out of an SEC road game with a win, made no mistakes, and retains the starter job. Last season they threw too much technical football at him too fast and he crumbled. I can't blame the coaches for easing him into it. They won't play him like this every game, he might have gone on to a better game. But it was vital to Harris and to LSU that he did not have a bad game.

    I can see that, that's plausible I just feel that a few more play actions on 1st and maybe a few on 2nd and short would have played to our advantage.

    No, but why would you imagine that LSU is going to run execute that same plan in every game? Read my preceding post for my thoughts on that. I think the coaches had valid reasons for not putting too much pressure on Harris in this game and they had valid reasons for allowing Fournette a chance to shine having lost an entire game last week. I think Harris will be increasingly challenged to run more of the playbook but he also needs to get comfortable managing a power running offense and know when to check off to a pass because he sees single coverage. They don't expect Harris to be everything they wish for in the second start of his career. Likewise, I don't expect LSU to execute the entire playbook in such a game, either. That does not mean that we won't see more of Harris and the playbook steadily for the rest of the season.
