You are determined to find a scapegoat and I have no intention of beating my head against the wall. I am saying that 4 and 5 star quarterbacks have been recruited and we have had bad luck with many of them. We are not the only school to be let down by players with severe flaws. Too many of ours have been quarterbacks. I see no failure in recruiting them and they can't be trained if they aren't here, can they? If i had a need to find a scapegoat for every imagined problem, I would blame the quarterbacks who failed to stick around and perform like they committed to.

I think the pain comes in the form of so many other schools that start freshman at QB that look like they have a clue. That's what hurts. We won't even mention that Teddy Bridgewater wanted to come here and was told no.

This is a fundamental difference of opinion between you and a growing number of fans, it seems. It seems crazy that you can call this highly paid coach a scapegoat for one of the most fundamental components of the organization he is responsible for. To date it has been an institutional problem - if you've been whiffing for a decade, there is a problem in the evaluation of talent/chest if nowhere else. I believe it's also in the handling and development and that QB has been almost an utter failure.

I start thinking about the height of Mettenberger's success, and one of his truly impressive accomplishments is how successful he was on normally oppressive 3rd situations, and I get this sinking feeling we're going to have a long year. I get this feeling that Mett succeeded despite Miles, and if Harris is going to succeed he'll have to overcome Miles.

We'll have a better idea this weekend; if we get more of the same I expect another nail biter. If that's the case, better hope Miles hasn't gotten the horseshoe and clover tattoo on his ass removed.

There are a lot of people that agree with me too, and you know it.

You misunderstand, I think it is you that is making him a scapegoat. I think Les is coping with bad luck involving top quarterbacks, forcing him to play reserve quarterbacks and young quarterbacks. Harris won't be young for long if he has the stuff.

I know that you don't care about wins, but to me it has been the most successful decade in the the history of LSU football! Your beliefs trouble you deeply, I am sure. But all teams have issues. We have fewer than most. We win consistently. Life is sweet.

I am sorry that I don't share your feelings. I think LSU is going to be a contender for the SEC West. A lot of people do. I do not imagine that Miles is trying to lose.

We will have a much better idea, indeed. We will surely see more passing, especially if all Auburn focuses on is Fournette. But I still don't think LSU will reveal the whole playbook if we can run successfully on them. Its a long season.

We might not see more passing. Of course, Auburn will focus on Fournette. Every team we play will. But Auburn has had extreme difficulty in defensing the read option so far this season. There should be lots of opportunities for Harris to pull the ball away and run himself when the D is set up to stop LF7. The Jacksonville State QB ate them alive for most of the game and he didn't have a Leonard Fournette as a threat. Of course a true read option offense such as is run by Oregon, Baylor, TCU and others also incorporates the passing game to a large extent but I think when Harris runs it he won't be given much option to pass on his own. Will either give the ball to Leonard or keep it himself.

Muschamp will be working to fix that zone read problem, I expect a better Auburn team on Saturday. And Fournette was most successful out of the I with a fullback than with the zone read. We will certainly run it, but I think the I formation will be much in evidence.

Sure, I was just saying that number is wavering and I'd guess the majority are party poopers like me.

I am aghast that you don't consider Miles responsible for the QB.

It's been a bitter sweet era from my perspective, but I agree, there is plenty to celebrate. A win is usually better than a loss, and I'll get at least some small amount of joy out of a win vs AU, regardless of how oogly.

You can give a coach a pass on a bad QB, hell even two, but

    RP?
    Lee?
    RS?
    JJ?
    JJ 2.0?

Thank god someone had the sense to go and get Mett.
