"we came out with a satisfying win." Reporter questions if it was a satisfying win why didn't he look happy. "We have so much to correct. . .I don't think anyone is satisfied with the win." Wtf. . .
Also, we were not rushing the punter. In fact a couple of times he hesitated kicking the ball giving the coverage guys time to surround White before the ball got there. WTF was that all about?
Exactly! I think Les Miles is the only coach in the nation who hasn't figured out that trying to ice the kicker by calling a time out seconds before the ball is snapped only gives the kicker a practice kick. The only way this is even a viable strategy is if there is a delay of game penalty called if the kicking team snaps and kicks after the whistle blows; which will never happen, so can we please dispense with 'icing the kicker' once and for all before it actually costs us a game? Hope you're right, but what have you seen so far that makes you believe this? We thought it would happen last year too with Jennings, but it never materialized. Even when we were down 17-0 to Ark, we just ran the same old plays. From every thing I read before the season started, the ultra conservative play calling was a thing of the past, yet it reared it's ugly ass again last night, with a missed FG being the only reason why we won.
No. I hear that Tampa Bay being down 35/7 at half just asked Sheppard if he had a copy that they could look at.
They didn't recruit those receivers to not use them. Relax. If Harris can continue to do what he is supposed to, Cameron will give him more to do. You have to figure Cameron wants it as much as we do. But he has to work with what he's got. He tried to do too much with Harris too early last year and he is not repeating that mistake.
The thing you are brushing past is they started to use it, do it in the 1st half and it was working. The receivers were open and or Harris was getting them the ball. Then, like sex after your wedding day, it just stopped.
Well, we did have a long pass called back as well as a couple of other big plays. Les successfully avoided any turnovers on the road. That would have been bad. But he didn't "stop" trying to score, he just focused on the run. It may not have been the best time and place to put Harris on the spot, but it seemed to be a very good time and place to see what out power running game can do. Pretty good, eh? Were you not happy with that?
incredible. It is hard to believe there are folks selling 6 pass attempts in the second half as a reasonable tactic. Maybe if we were draining the clock with long drives, but we weren't. We put the game in the hands of Mississippi st rather than distancing ourselves. Lets allow MooU within field goal range because we know they'll choke. I wonder if the Bulldogs finish last in the west this year...?
