Tyke Tolberts name is coming up at Houston, Kevin Sumlin may be trying to get Tyke to A&M.

I think it is difficult to determine how much improvement Gonzo has made with our WR's. I think they block well, seem to run great routes. For the most part they catch pretty well. I think the wall Gonzo is up against when asking "how much better he as made the WR's?" is fact that our QB play has been so poor. How can our WR's put up big numbers when our QB throw for a total of 1200-1500 yds per season and average 12-15 attempts a game? Our QB's have not been the most accurate and our Wr's are still called upon to make catches from a poorly thrown ball. QB play is the issue with our WR's, because we have the talent at that position. Good test of our WR's development will be next season, when we should have a QB that passes for 2400-2800 yds in a season. I tink Gonzo goes because OC is an upgrade to his current status.

Yep, but he'll have another shot next year, cause LSU is gonna be very good again next year. Plus, theres a bunch of cash to be made next year. Gonzo might want to take a look at the last few coaches to leave the staff. Stability at LSU is one of the bigger things, name a more stable program? Most every coach on this staff will return next year.

Lets see, bama is playing in the BCSNCG and they lose their OC, the DC and LB coaches have put their names out for jobs. They lost two others on the support staff. S-t-a-b-i-l-i-t-y, maybe I use this word too much...but in the coaching profession, they like it..

Gonzo is a young, dumb, and fullacum Urban Meyer clone!

He goes into that hole at Illinois (who crave all things Florida and SEC speed), and he'll get his just dessert there ... career setbacks!

Five years at Florida with Meyer, and only two years at LSU ... who's this guy fooling?

You gotta pay those dues ... that's 10 - 15 years as a minimum to make a top notch OC at a Championship Program

    This one just hit............

    Next:

Derek Dooley has talked today with Clemson defensive coordinator Kevin Steele and there is a good chance Steele will be joining the Tennessee staff.

Guess Dooley missed the game last night? Like I said, the AD at UT is doing some damage there.

I happen to think you are right. IF he stays one more season, our WR's will look a lot better, due to better passing stats/yardage from our QB and I think his stock improves. Who knows what arrangement he had with Miles to begin with? "OC in waiting" or "WR/Offensive game day manager" (sad that we had to hire Gonzo to hold Crowton's hand). Maybe Gonzo is fine being a high paid assistant at one of the best programs in the country. Personally, if I was a coach and had options, Illinois would not be a step in the right coachig direction. Dead end OC job right there within 2 years.

Saban is OK to work for, if you're building a resume, but his staff are not usually happy campers. Depends, I think, on how much abuse one can take. A real contrast with CLM's program. Another reason to favor LSU next week. If it's close near the end, I expect the Tide to implode, just like their Coach on the sideline.

For years its been know, work for him a couple years, pad your resume and move on. Oh he still has the same ones on this staff that follows him around. Williams is not a bad guy and coach.
