I think this is the most athletic team ever in the history of the NBA. Staight up street ball on both the offensive and defensive ends. Baron Davis, Jason Richardson, Monte Ellis, Matt Barnes, Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson, Michael Pietrus, Andris Biedrins, Kelenna Azubuike More fun to watch than the Phoenix Suns. This team has a chance to go far. They present major matchup problems because of their athleticism. I definitely think they will win the series vs. Utah in 6 or 7. Would love to see Phoenix vs. Golden State in the Western Conference finals, although I think Golden State would fare better vs San Antonio.
Davis was absolutely incredible to watch tonight. Along with the rest of the Warriors team of course. Still can't believe some of the plays I saw!!! I've made a point to watch every Warriors game during the playoffs and it's been worth it.
The dunk on Kirilenko was so damn nasty. Glad to see Baron stay healthy for the most part of this season (has had injury plagued career). The NBA is better because of it. This is one of the standout guys on and off the court. True ambassador for the game. Mr. Stern must love him dearly.
I don't even like the NBA and I've made it a point to watch the Warriors games these playoffs. I've really enjoyed them and hope they make it to the finals just so I have a reason to continue watching the playoffs.
I love watching the Warriors but give them very little chance of advancing past the Jazz. And this isn't the fan in me talking -- I detest the Jazz, and make it a point to watch the Warriors. However, all of the things that make them great also make them terrible for the postseason. No rebounding, bad free throw shooting, no clock management. Believe me, I'd love to see them in the NBA Finals against Phoenix, but 1) that can't happen, so we're stuck with a team from the East in the finals and 2) I don't see them advancing. I think San Antonio would eat them alive anyway. There's just a huge difference in regular season and post-season basketball.
Nellie Ball strikes again. Out rebounded 52-36, and shot 62% on free throws. Teams just can't win in the playoffs against solid teams with these two Achilles heels. It's aggravating as all hell, as it pretty much guarantees having to endure another series of the Jazz. Compounding this is the turnovers. The Jazz had TWENTY turnovers, and the Warriors only got 17 points off them. That's a ludicrous stat. The Jazz got 21 points off 15. Finally, they've gotta get more than 7 points from Richardson to have a chance against anybody. I was hoping to see more of this team this year, but it's pretty much over. The bad thing is I don't see them getting much better next year, given the style of ball that makes them so much fun to watch in the first place. :angryfire
GS is a fast and athletic team and they get streaky. But as expected they are wearing them down physically and mentally. Sloan is using GS's own team strenghts to help wear them down. If GS is going to settle for 39 3's what is the point of having a run and gun offense. The Jazz are looking real good right now, very sound overall. More versatility in the playoffs is important and the Jazz just have more of it. BTW, I am expected some kind of bad press for GS after those fouls and it shouldnt be made into a big deal. Richardson was caught up in the moment and that is part of basketball. Baron Davis was a little frustrated and wasnt really thinking but I could tell he felt bad as soon as he realized what he did. No biggie in my book and Fisher said the same because there is no bad blood between them. However, the media is already jumping on it to make another story.:dis:
