Going outside of the pipeline

    Under what circumstances do we go after kids from way out of our pipeline, Joeseph Barksdale from Mich. for example last year?

    When they are the best available to meet any given need and are obtainable.

    You mean, "outside of our natural recruiting base"

    and we pursue a ton of kids each year from these areas, we only pursue hard if they show genuine interest.

    I thought there was a good chance with Dayne Crist before he committed to ND and I know there was a bit of residual hope for Darrell Scott up to a point. I would think that most of the top schools would consider themselves in the hunt for top players.
