If that 4th quarter "3 times from the one-inch line" didn't get you off your ass and praise the ghosts of LSU past greats then nothing will. Two weeks in a row this defense "bent but didn't break" on the goal line remenicent of championships past. The 2003 season was chock full of big plays against our "D" only to snatch a victory out of the jaws of defeat. 2007 saw some pretty low times too with the "Wild Hog" running rampant on Tiger turf but the end result was another crystal for the trophy case. Chad "the One Man Gang" "Dreadlocks of Doom" Jones' run back for a TD as well as his contributions on the aforementioned goal line have forever made him legendary in Tiger history. You can also just "feel" Trindon taking one to the house in a game soon. Who said Jordan Jefferson couldn't throw the long ball? (me). He proved otherwise Saturday. He is best on that deep crossing route so watch out "murderers row" of opponents in the next 5 weeks. We may be a little slow to get going but I think this team is going to be something special...and you can take that to the bank. Can I get an amen or even a hell yeah?
Amen brotha! Watching this team I see loads of potential, that is, if we can clean up the sloppy stuff. We need to find a running game. ASAP. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
Anyone notice the ever so slow edging towards a full out blasting of the team at some point in this thread? First, we got an amen. Then we got a "we just need to turn our potential into results" Then we got a "I'm weary of the offensive play calling by Crowton" Post #51 should be right about the time Les Miles gets fired if I'm guessing right. :hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi:
I'll give you a big AMEN, COramprat!... and a "Dat's what I'm talkin' bout", too. I agree with you, the MSU game was chock full of big moments that were worth getting fired up about, especially that goal line stand. I think a similar scenario will certainly present itself again later this season, and the D will now have that confidence, and maybe even a swagger that challenges them to duplicate that. Punt returns at key moments will hopefully be repeated, too:hihi: I think CLM will have them fired up this week against UGA. I think we come out and kick some butt and build on the big moments from MSU.
Great, positive thread in a recent sea of negativity. :thumb: I hope you're right about our defense, that they're building something special that will continue to improve through the season. If that happens I'll be very happy, and the Tigers will be very successful.
We may never explode and blow people out this year, but I really do see a big attitude difference this year as compared to last year. You think we would have had a single goal line stand the last few games of the regular season last year...particularly Arkansas? No one on this years team is a quitter. Night and day type difference in the locker room. (oh yea, new defensive coaching too.:hihi
