:LSU231: There were some LSU students on the Michigan forum thinking Wolverine fans do not now like LSU because everyone is only talking about a new coach and not the bowl. This is totally not true. After finding out the trueth, regarding the way Les Miles was treated by Martin and Michigan's president, the Wolverine World is in an uproar. If you look at their forums, there is not one thing about the game with (who is it we play???) Florida, maybe. Nobody cares. We care about the integrity of our program. What Martin did to make LSU look like the bad guy has Michigan up in arms. I would love to have LM as our coach, but now I hope he stays. LSU is a class act. Please don't think Michigan is classless because of Martin. I'm sure he will be canned immediately after we get a HC. It is the entire Michigan fan base that is up in arms over this mess. We have prided ourselves with integrity, and Martin has to go. By the way...Kill OSU they have no class.
To me, Michigan has the proudest football tradition in all of college football. After all, they have the highest all-time winning % of any college football team. And I know that the majority of the the "Wolverine World" wanted Miles, because he's just that freaking awesome. But beyond that, I'm not sure what happened. I've heard all kinds of different stories. One was that Michigan would have had Miles, but they were way too aggressive. Another was that Michigan would have had Miles, but they were way too passive. Do you care to elaborate on what you think happened?
Instead of being in Ann Arbor where he belonged, Martin was on a youht in the Atlantic. He go out too far, and one phone couldn't reach Les' agent. He had to use another. He allowed ESPN to make an announcement that we had a signed deal when he never talked to Miles. They made it sound like LSU set MIChigan up with a deal behind UM's back. That is why Miles was so angry the day of the SEC game. Martin had every right to talk to Les' agent. Instead, he made no contact at all. At first it was reported that LSU had set Michigan up so LSU could seal a deal with Miles with poor Martin trying to the good guy. Instead he was out on his damn boat with a donar instead of being in Ann Arbor trying secure a deal so Martin could come home. Loyd Carr does not want Miles, for some reason, and an outgoing coach should have no hold on an incoming coach's staff. Loydd is in this up to his neck. It was also reported that les was with Gary Moeller at the resturant when Gary got drunk and vocal and got kicked out of the resturant. That is why the President didn't want Miles. It wasn't Mile's fault Moeller couldn't handle his liquor. When all this came out, Michigan fans, and alumni went nuts. Les Miles deserved better respect from the members of the HC committee. They have their own agenda, and EVERYONE is calling for their heads. They obviously don't have the best interest in Michigan, but rather keeping promises to thier buddies, English and Debord. Now, all the former players under Bo, MO, and Carr are up in arms. Heads will roll. The feeling in Michigan, is IF Les Miles wants to come home, we should make it happen. That is why the Detroit Free Press wrote an article about that. Poor Les, will look like a traitor to LSU if the Michigan nations rallies to somehow get him home. However, like I said, if he is happy in BR which is a class town like Ann Arbor, then the more power to him. GO LSU...you will be National Champs with our entire army of the Michigan fan and alumni base (the largest in the country) will be behind you. Beat Ohio State.
I wish all Michigan fans would step up to the plate like you. Most of the Michigan fans are a bunch of Horses asses. I live in Michigan and let me tell you being a LSU TIGER fan Iam tried of there crap. From the time michigan lost to Ap. state all had to listen to is LM is going to be our new coach. Then it went to how much they hated LM and LSU. You go back to that sorry forum you guys have and tell them to just forget about our coach and start to think how in the world is Carr going to stop T-Bow from running up the score, on that sorry D-fence michigan has.
Thanks for the kind words. And welcome to the board too. Which Michigan forum are you talking about that all this stuff is happening? :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
If Michigan was really that interested in Miles, they should have waited until the regular season was over BEFORE asking permission from LSU to speak with him. Michigan put LSU's season at risk by causing a substancial media frenzy, which in turn caused a big distraction to the LSU team. No valid excuse for what Michigan did.
Maybe Michigan can learn from how Nebraska handled hiring Bo Pelini. Of course it sounds like Bill Martin is no Dr. Osborne.
Chip, exactly. That is why the Michgan fans are so upset. No excuse for what they did to LSU. Michgan fans, former players, alumni, and booster groups are supporting what should have been done. Since nobody cares about the Florida game, I think that says alot about the pride that Michigan fans expect from our program. I am the biggest fan of UM sports, and I hate all Florida teams...but you know what, I don't care if we win this game. We want our integrity back. Something Ohio State Fans don't even care about. Win at all cost.
