you paint with too broad a brush I don't think what you said was applicable to most of the people who made comments in this thread, and I wonder if you're Glenn's brother or something the way you went off on everyone. I think that this particular column, which had absolutely no facts whatsoever in it, and could have been written by anyone at any time because it is pure speculation and pop psychology, is a terrible example of sports writing. That's what I said. Nothing more. I didn't say the Advocate was the worst paper in the world, nor do I think Glenn Guilbeau is the worst sportswriter around. I don't think he is not an LSU fan. I just think that this of all weeks he showed himself to be incredibly lazy and somewhat destructive of LSU's reputation with recruits (although I realize he doesn't owe LSU anything in that regard, especially if he wrote a column which included some new information or facts regarding Saban's likelihood of leaving.) I don't know why you got so exercised but try to chill out. No one here is interested in some crusade against anyone, including you. On the other hand, it's unpleasant to be berated (by name) on an LSU fan board when all anyone was doing was expressing an off-the-cuff reaction to some pretty pathetic sports writing. Peace.
Hey Texican...I don't project excellence, and never have... But, when it's apparent you come out and "paint with too broad a brush" as someone has said I've done, then you get your panties all in a twist... I'm still waiting on you guys... All the invective...all the vitriol...but still no e-mails to the EDITORS of the Advocate, the EDITOR of Advocate Sports, and NO e-mails to the advertisers of the Advocate? What a surprise... You guys keep going off on me, and whining about anything that isn't exactly toeing the "Purple and Gold" line...Boo fricking hoo... You guys are trashing a guy that's a good writer, and has done a good job covering LSU sports, in my opinion, though he has had some goof ups along the way...as have we all, evidently... Texican, your caustic sarcasm aside, I'm guessing I must have struck quite a chord with you...Funny, since I'm not the one going off on a man's professionalism, his professional ability, his mental faculties, as well as whining about something endlessly without doing something PROACTIVE to remedy this situation that YOU are commenting on! Why bitch and complain? Put your money where your mouth is...Or is that all you are? Just a mouth...or in this case, a keyboard? Hmmm...I'm waiting to see who you e-mail and what you tell them...But, should I hold my breath? I'm still LOL@you all.... ;-)
and hitler was a great philanthropist much like enron. because sometimes you see a cockroach and dont feel its worth the foot you use to step on it. it worked, thanks. have you apologized for getting him fired.
Re: Glenn Gulibeau is a piece of garbage Nice. Resurrecting a post from late 2003. I click on that 2003 TP article that this thread is discussing and I get a broken link. I'd like to read the article before commenting on it (unless someone has already quoted the entire article in this thread, which I have not started reading yet).
Re: Glenn Gulibeau is a piece of garbage It's pretty obvious. During the 2003 NC season the wags had been spouting off about the liklihood of Saban taking an NFL job at some point in the future. During the build-up to the big game, Dildeaux decides to regurgitate the puke we'd been hearing for months. That way, he could put up something negative wile not having to do any real work. Typical of him. Later, he moved to Gannett newspapers and put out the same crap to a new audience. Now he's hated everywhere. I'm waiting for him to turn up at the Breaux Bridge Banner. He can trash the local Tigers and get his azz kicked in the process.:thumb:
Re: Glenn Gulibeau is a piece of garbage rule #1. never cite the date until its obvious to everyone else. thats the entire point of dredging this crap up.:grin:
Well, here is an interesting post. After reading posts and posts of LSU fans trashing Guilbeau on this thread, this poster (2003) was the first one that stepped up and defended him. Looks like this poster turns out to be a fool, as Guilbeau was indeed fired from the Advocate as this poster apparently never believed would happen.
