We tried for a year to work out a home and home series with USC. Right now, the dates simply can't be worked out.

Of course...it's another example of "why let facts get in the way of an assinine opinion."

Only Terry would have the guts to call GG what he really is.

Has USC TRIED to schedule LSU? What about what Tenn did to Cal? Is the SEC that good or was Cal overrated? Miles is right. Once again, a writer (and I use that term loosely) is complaining about our non-conference opponents. I have always contended that it's easier to schedule a KIND OF tough non-conference schedule when you have such a weak conference schedule. Why doesn't one of the writers do a TRUE unbiased analysis of the Pac-10 and the SEC. They are afraid of what they will find. Conference is hard to win...every game is a grudge match. OOC is not a cake walk, but you don't have the worry of falling behind in conference play. Do some home work and let us all in on how great the Pac-10 really is. Or...are you too afraid of killing yourself point by point.

Even if we tried to schedule USC it would be a good number of years till we actually played them, and who knows whats gonna happen then and who will be good then. I would like to see it though...a home and home would be really fun. Going into LA to quiet the lil trojan fans up

SC would never do the following because of their rivalry with the Irish, but how about:

    So long ND, Hello LSU!!!

The only thing that should ever surprise any of us about GG is if he actually compliments us one day.

I've been wrong before...shocking...I know...but is Les responsible for THIS years schedule?? Or the ones of the past few years...that GG mentions in his...er...article?? Do we know for a fact that Les isn't considering scheduling more difficult OOC teams??

Guilbeau needs to go back and read Miles' statements. He was not opposed to playing Virginia Tech or Texas A&M. He was opposed to playing them too early in the season. Big difference.

Has nothing to do with TV. I won't bore you all with the history of the rivalry but it is a long one and deeply felt/appreciated by both schools. In 1974 when Anthony Davis spurred a second half comeback and a 55-24 victory over the irish, that game became a historical landmark for Trojan fans. In a poll on our forum last year, it was overwhelmingly selected as the top game ever.

The irish put up with a 12 (or maybe even 13) year winning streak against USC without dropping us from their schedule. We won't drop them either.
