    espn???

Oh, you mean that entertainment and sports programming network.
Must be some kind of entertainment deal, maybe some kind of survivor deal – watch washed up jocks, old coaches and jock/coach wann-bes try to speak in complete sentences while a couple of trained broadcasters feed them lines and make fun of them. I’ll pass until the next time an LSU game is broadcast on that network.

Are you telling me you don't believe this? It is a team sport. Individual achievements are great, but we all know what the ultimate goal is(besides the NFL). And it's not an individual achievement.

I never said the people on here were good with coping. I guess their way of saying congratulation is complaining about it.

Interesting. But I'm sure most of them have concussions, so their voting could be a little off.

What I didn't agree with is that The Heisman is the only individual award that gets played down. It was more of a summary opinion.

Of course it's a team award and individual accomplishments are great but not necessary and most award winners I've ever heard have said they'd trade their stuff for a championship.

Concussions or otherwise, the coaches of the Pac10 and the Olineman of the Pac10 all agreed that Sed Ellis was The Man on the 2nd rated D in the country.

I agree. Ellis had the best DT performance this year. Sure Dorsey got hurt, but that's part of the game (look at Dixon this year). I think the only reason Dorsey got any awards this year is because he returned as a senior, got hurt, and kept playing. By doing so, he risked throwing away millions in the NFL by permanently injuring himself for LSU's sake. I think the reason he got all those awards this year was not because he had a great year, but because of how impressively honorable it was from to return to his college as a senior, and then to continue to play for his college after he was injured, risking his personal future.

Not exactly, Dorsey was considered one of the best players in the country after last season and will be a top-5 draft pick, possibly #1. He earned those awards fairly. He played a great season, despite injuries, and has his team in the National championship game.

Yes there are a couple of other players at his level and also deserving of awards. Dorsey benefitted from the exposure coming from an unprecedented 11 games on national TV and LSU spending so much time at #1 or #2.

red, that's exactly what I thought made the difference for GD too. For a change, one of our players benefitted from recognition for received from the media.

It was good to see an LSU player benefit, for a change cause how many times have we had players as good as others receiving awards, yet, didn't get the press they deserved?

Couldn't have happened to a better guy either, Dorsey's story is heart-warming- I love to see a tight mother/son relation.

ESPN did not mean to overlook him. They looked all over Ann Arbor to give him the message and ask him if they could use his name since they do not like to drag names into their reporting without acknowledgment of consent.

They just couldn't find him, anywhere in Michigan.

    They are very sorry.

They only picked one defensive tackle? They'd rather have a fourth linebacker than Glen Dorsey? Um, okay. :insane:
