i almost put finebaum as an example. another guy just like guilbeau except i really think finebaum is playing a heel.
I agree with the part about inventing him. But, for a guy who gets paid to put words on "paper", I wonder if he even attended journalism school. Probably not. His articles just jerk all over the place and sometimes appear to be more abstract art than journalism. Of course - just my opinion. But I think many posters on this and other boards write more coherently than Guilbeau.
Again, what did this article tell us that most people who follow the program didn't already know? Anyone who thinks our QB issue, or even our defensive issues for that matter, are "fixed" at this point is delusional. We may not even have the answers to those questions until the end of the season, for that matter. If you're expecting great things out of this year's team (12-0, 11-1), you'll likely be disappointed, for a number of reasons. However, 2010 should be a different matter, barring something catastrophic.
Did you read the article? Not the snippet posted in the link...the article. He said that JJ will be better than whoever played last year...including JJ...and also said that JL would be better than anyone last season...including himself.
The above post is the biggest bunch of Bullsh*t I've ever read on TF's. This guy is probobly related to Dildeau. Listen to this trash, and you'll have LSU finishing last in the pack. Let's all try to look back on BOTH of our recent Nat'l Championship teams. Did we have a Dominating QB? NO! Did we shatter passing or rushing records? NO. NO we didn't. Did we win the crystal? YES. Yes we did. How? With a well-rounded team, offense and defense. If anything, we had a superior Defense that stopped the other teams offense most of the time and allowed our well coached offense to score. Did the QB position win or lose games? NO! But the QB did the job designed by the coaching staff and scored when needed. Don't buy into this wait till next year crap when our QB has enough experience to win games for us. This kinda talk is BS! As in most matters, the past is a good indicator as to what to expect in the future. We have an experienced "TEAM" with leaders on both sides of the ball that are capable of beating ANY team. And by the way,,,,,,,Matt Flynn was a starter for ONLY the year we won the Nat'l Championship. View attachment 12201
I read the article just fine, but his implication is that LSU will have problems at QB. Its just assumptions, who knew Tebow or Bradford would be great. Like I said, I'll reserve judgement for the performance on the field, not wheel chair coaches.
bit harsh there charlie. while i dont think the sky is falling, the pure fact of the matter is we have yet to see the full time performance (especially against sec teams) of a young qb. while he is likely better than the young green qb that got thrown to the wolves last year, he still needs maturity and game experience to really get his feet under him to be great. mf had both of those things when he started. he had been a back up for much longer, getting onfield experience and learning the system. big difference between the two. as for as the d, we can only assume that the defensive problems have been fixed. do i think they have been? yes, but we have yet to see the proof on the field in a game. so if people want to believe we will have a good, but not great year, before seeing actual performance that is their right. it doesnt mean they are full of bs, it means that they are cautiously optimistic. those that are predicting 10-2 or a 9-3 season arent haters. they know that this is a tough schedule with a team that is young in some key positions. but that this year if good, but not great, could very well be setting us up for next year. nothing wrong with that. just a difference in opinion.
