Another funny thread...you Chicken Littles keep it coming. Dorsey was double teamed all day. Maybe you think he was a bit ineffective but Arkansas sure didn't.
Dorsey at 80% is still better than just about every other lineman in the country. What are you thinking?? :dis: :rolleye33:
I'm pretty sure that's what he was doing in the 1st half. At least he was on the bench while the rest of the D was out there.
heart of a lion (or two) is very true. Even though not healthy he was occupying two offensive linemen on nearly every play. Just the THREAT of Dorsey puts some pressure on the OLine. Just the presence of Dorsey adds confidence to our whole team. I wondered about it, too, but decided that one half of Dorsey is still greater than a whole lineman of lesser heart and talent. I'm glad he gave it his all and just sorry he had to leave Tiger Stadium on a loss. But rest assured, Mr. Dorsey will never be a loser. :geaux:
They were still constantly double teaming him Friday. If that aint respect and effectiveness personified, I don't know what is. The other D-lineman should have been able to step up. They didn't. They haven't for much of the 2nd half of this season. The only thing I can remember Tyson Jackson for is a few passes he knocked down and a couple of really horrible personal fouls (see Kentucky and Alabama games).
I definately don't think he was a liability. He drew double teams and still made 6 tackles, that's not bad for any healthy lineman. We all know he has a heart bigger than Hester (if that's possible). If I were to second guess anything about Glenn this year, it would be that we should have rested him for a couple weeks after the Florida game. He has been fighting every kind of nagging injury you can think of since then. He is still best player in the country, sux for him that he's gonna play in Miami next year.
Dorsey is the heart and soul of the LSU defense and never a liability. ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule: ldskule:
Steltz was the liability, they isolated him in one on one coverages and took advantages of his speed, he missed key tackles and they werent even blocking him. He also shot the gaps too much instead of forcing the running back inside on alot of runs. This kid has been great all year long, but friday i dont know. I couldnt understand it. They should have let him and Taylor switch cause he is a beast in the middle of the field. Im not dumping on the guy just my opinion of what i saw. :geaux:
I agree. Dorsey was not the problem in this game. Doucet was the liability with dropped passes and an unforgiveable penalty that cost us a touchdown. Mental penalties from a senior are inexcusable. How could he not line up properly? I hate to be so critical of someone that's done so much for this team in the past, but frankly, this year has been substandard for Doucet. He's dropped too many passes. As I think about that play more (Flynn to Hester TD pass), I also wonder why no one (coach) was screaming at Doucet to move off the line. It happened right in front of the coaches. They should have been screaming before the snap, because I sure as hell was from section 101.
