I'll ask again. Who should play for him? If the other Dlineman had less tackles than a hurting Dorsey, what makes you think a backup would have been any more effective? No doubt he hasn't been himself, but an injured Dorsey seems to be better than a healthy backup.
Dorsey was not a liabilty, he was not as affective as we know he can be. His back problems may be a result of his knee problem and maybe he should have sat out Ole Miss and LA Tech to get healthy. What happen Friday is we got beat by a better team... Lets stop crying over spilled milk and support the tigers for the SEC championship.. Favorite is the most logical answer to come in when Dorsey is hurt. He will be another execeptional player for LSU...
Not so, we didn't get beat, we beat ourselves. Position for position, LSU is a much better team- we just didn't get it done for several reasons that have been hammered already but not all were on them. Can I get a "4th & 10"? What about Woods rotating for Dorsey now and then? Haven't really watched him in games but he's supposed to be a hoss. I know he's a freshman and no one can take Dorsey's place, just asking.
I can tell you this, last friday Ark was the better team because they won. I agree with the 4th and 10, to not blitz Dick was NUTTS.... I was only thinking Favorite becuase that is who replaced Dorsey in the Auburn game...
Dorsey was doubled frequently throughout the game .... no small wonder that he only had 6 tackles..... dood's a beast
I was surprised we didn't see Al Woods a bit more, as it looked like Dorsey was in trouble, physically. Somehow, the guy still made some great plays. Most players wouldn't have had the heart or even ability to play through like he did -- especially knowing that he's going to be a top pick in April. I would hardly classify his contributions as a liability.
Thank you for a logical post, although I won't call Dorsey a liability, we should have given him a breather from time to time with Al Woods and Drake Nevis taking his place. I know they are young, but it keeps Dorsey fresh when he needed it. Glenn Dorsey showed why he will be a top 3 pick in the draft playing through injuries and still performing at a high level, but we need to rotate that line out with our remaining Dlineman.
Phaps he got the 6 tackles because more plays were run at him than anybody else. He could not - out of the desire & competitive drive that brought him back this year - take himself out of the game. SOMEONE should have taken that decision out of his hands. The diff between players at this level is not so great that a lame lineman, double-teamed, can be effective. If you've ever played with a bum knee, it's amazing that he could take the pounding. Did I imagine gaping holes to Glenn's left in particular? More importantly tho, who will play next week if Dorsey doesn't (assuming Holliday not yet fit)
