wasn't he in a wreck while he was at LSU, too? I remember taped ribs and stuff. Hope he is OK. Judging by the weather in NE today for the Pats game, that's not the best driving weather.
Hope it is nothing that will keep him from performing. He doesn't make that much scratch and I doubt it is guaranteed anyway. He needs to be able to play and get his $ up for the future.
Baby made $600,000 last year and will make $700,000 this year. So if this would be something to keep him out for a really long time, he'd be set for at least a while. But he just has a concussion and should be fine.
Medical bills can pile up. Clair, let me tell about a friend of mine. Her name is Etta Munsen. She's 94, she's a widow living on Social Security in Sparta, Tennessee. Etta was born with only one kidney. She also suffers from polio, spinal meningitis, lung, liver, and pancreatic cancer, an enlarged heart, diabetes, and a rare form of cystic acne. Now, several recent strokes, along with an unfortunate shark attack, have left her paralyzed and missing her right leg under the knee. Just last week she woke from a coma to find that, due to a hospital mix-up, her left arm had been amputated, infected with syphilis, and then reattached. As you can imagine.. Etta's prescription drug bills are staggering. They run to nearly $113 million a day! That is just wrong!
Doesn't sound like much to me, for a NBA player. After taxes, agent, etc., I imagine a big chunk is gone. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great deal of $ but his contract expires this year. Hate to see him get a setback like this. Playing well this year could secure a much better longterm contract.
