VCU was more of a commuter school for a long time. I attended 1979-83, and it was around that time that it began to change from an urban campus to more of a traditional campus, which included the construction of more dorms. Basketball really put VCU on the map. Academically, it has some nationally-known programs -- the School of the Arts, also the Medical School of Virginia.
Yes sir. My oldest brother enrolled at RPI (on the GI bill after his time in the Army) and graduated from VCU after RPI&MCG were merged under W&M guidance into VCU. I started following VCU wary on and followed him enrolling there myself.
Yes, RPI until 1968 I believe. When did you attend? I was there 1979-83. Whenever I get down to RVA to visit I barely recognize the campus. So many changes over the years.
