I managed my son's select soccer team for many years in the DFW area. Been involved in many scrimmages between his team and others, including older girls and FC Dallas teams. Trust me, there is NO WAY that the scrimmage score was not important to the USWNT against those boys. That is not how it works. That kind of talk is from apologist reporters wanting to try to save face for the USWNT. I have no problem with women having their own sports and competing against each other. Cool. But let's not misunderstand what level of competition it truly is. If folks want to watch it, fine. I enjoy watching the LSU woman's soccer team games. But I understand what I am watching and am not going to lie to myself and others because of some sort of leftist guilt. Uh no. I really don't appreciate ESPN ramming that crap down our throats due to their leftist crusade. Let the market place decide.

Speaking of women and soccer, the US Women's National Team are about to get a fat bonus...because the men advanced to the round of 16 in the World Cup. The $13 million the men will get plus more if they advance will be split down the middle. $6 million going to the women for watching. People are saying around $300K for each female athlete. The recent renegotiated contract between the men and women and USSF says that the women get half. The men also get half of what the women win in World Cup prize money. FIFA is awarding $440 million in money for this year's men's tournament. They will award $60 million for next years women's tournament. Pennies to the dollar. This is based on add revenue, sponsorship, and tv deals. WNBA is a separate entity from the NBA right? Imagine how that would get chopped up.
