You seem to be hung up on the that, but I'm not sure why. If O needs 2 strong OCs instead of being his own DC, then fine. I don't mind that. I like the fact that he recognizes that he needs to defer to the people being paid top dollar to do their jobs instead of meddling in it. And if they leave, that would suck, but at least it means we were having success enough for the coordinator to be noticed and considered for a HC job, especially if we're talking about an OC. I would rather lose a coordinator then to hire someone like Herman, only for him to leave a couple of years down the road; which is exactly what would have happened had Texas decided to keep strong for another year. I may be misunderstanding your point, but are you saying it's speculation that Miles never meddled in the offense? If so, you're probably the last man standing who doesn't think he did. This should be obvious to anyone that's followed the team closely the last several years.
