Geez....Let's see, built like someone injected him with Roger Clemens' "B-12"...big as a horse, fast as a horse....sub 4.6 -forty.... Tell me this, if he's so damn great and super, what kept him from sweeping all of the D-line awards??????
Stewart's problems have been pre-snap and holding....I don't recall ever really seeing him get absolutely man-handled repeatedly...
The steroid allegations have existed forever, ever since UM fans let him get away from detroit. The guy has been built about like that since HS, and passed tests cleanly. Could he be? Sure, along with a ton of other players in CFB. Believe what you will. Run D, which is why Wilson was (/is?) OSU's best DE. No question that VA's a bit excited about Big Vern.
Because he wasn't as good as DE Chris Long (Virginia), DE George Selvie (South Florida), or DE Greg Middleton (Indiana). Long swept the five NCAA-recognized First Team All-American Teams, making him a consensus All-American (like Dorsey and OSU LB Laurinaitis). Selvie got the nod on four of the five NCAA-recognized First Team All-American Teams. Middleton got the nod on one of the five NCAA-recognized First Team All-American Teams. As for OSU's Gholston, he was named: Second Team AP All-American Team (recognized by NCAA) Second Team Walter Camp Football Foundation All-America Team (recognized by NCAA) Second Team Sports Illustrated All-American Team Second Team Rivals All-American Team NOTE: The other three NCAA-recognized All-American teams (TSN, FWAA, AFCA) do not name a Second Team, only a First Team. I didn't check the ESPN, CBS Sports, College Football News, or Scout.com All-American teams Also, Gholston finished the season ranked the #4 DE in the country by Rivals (behind Long, Selvie, and Middleton). Here is how Rivals ranked Gholston per week. Below that is how Rivals ranked LSU's Tyson Jackson per week. Vernon Gholston (redshirt Junior) #8 -- Post-Spring #9 -- Preseason #9 -- Week 1 #10 -- Week 2 #10 -- Week 3 #9 -- Week 4 #11 -- Week 5 #16 -- Week 6 #15 -- Week 7 (NR) -- Week 8 #22 -- Week 9 #12 -- Week 10 #11 -- Week 11 #4 -- Week 12 #4 -- Week 13 #4 -- Week 14 Tyson Jackson (redshirt Junior) #9 -- Post-Spring #10 -- Preseason #10 -- Week 1 #11 -- Week 2 #11 -- Week 3 #15 -- Week 4 (NR) -- Week 5 (NR) -- Week 6 (NR) -- Week 7 (NR) -- Week 8 (NR) -- Week 9 (NR) -- Week 10 (NR) -- Week 11 (NR) -- Week 12 (NR) -- Week 13 (NR) -- Week 14 Also, NFLDraftScout.com predicts that Gholston will be the #1 DE taken in the 2009 Draft and that Tyson Jackson will be the #3 DE taken in the 2009 Draft. Both are predicted to be taken in the 1st Round. Finally, here are Gholston's stats this year: 13 sacks (#4 in the country) in 13 games. That ties the school record for sacks at Ohio State set in 1995 by Mike Vrabel. Here are Tyson Jackson's stats this year: 2.5 sacks in 13 games
I disagree, I thought he looked solid early then went to doo doo. Hes a human penalty but he often balances that by allowing a "clean" sack on the QB. Once again, I hope he has the game of his life, but Ive cursed him multiple times this year because of this.
Lest we forget what Herschel Walker looked like when he first went to Georgia... and he claimed he did thousands of sit-up and push-ups, but never lifted a weight in high school. .... some dudes are made of cement. Jevon Kearse use to look like a man among boys during his college days.
