let me get this straight. we have a team that for nearly 2 decades could sleepwalk and win no less than 8-9 games. we have 2 coordinators with solid resumés and are highly respected. we have an AD, who has a long glorious history of hiring horrendous coaches. we have a coach who’s only time running a team was an absolute disaster. and somehow you think the people that are historically terrible aren’t the reason we’re suddenly terrible? um, ok. O claimed this wasn’t going to be a rebuild. now it’s a rebuild. O claimed he was going to keep his fingers out of the offense. O has already admitted to meddling in the offense. O claimed he was no longer the guy he was at Ole Miss. O has LSU looking a lot like ‘05-‘07 Ole Miss. this has O written all over it. the national media sees it. the local media sees it. (even some of his biggest allies in Baton Radio sees it. ) former LSU players see it. no fucking way in hell is this roster (never finished below 7 in recruiting the last 5 years) is weak enough to justify getting raped by State and lose to Troy (who has never finished above #95 in recruiting). quit trying to pin this on anyone other than the guy whose last team looked just like we currently look.
Nootch, one thing I'll say is that the roster lacks depth. Talent can't compensate for lack of depth.
I could see this being the issue if we playing at a high level at the beginning of games and started getting in trouble as the game gets into the second half. We are being pushed around from the opening kickoff. I don't think it's a depth issue in the first quarter.
This is really the only 2 points you made worth even talking about. I would say this 1st is actually why I believe we are in this mess, we have limped along on athletic talent alone for years. A house of cards and it is falling down now, THAT IS ON MILES. No one else. yes we have 2 solid coordinators and they are not the problem. But since in the same breath you want to say O is so horrible at every thing (except he is highly respected recruiter, dline coach, and again for the 5000 time he woke up 2 programs that were done for the year with us and usc). So by using your logic we should clean house and get rid everyone. I mean they had a whole 4 games to win the NC and all. Lets fire O, Canada, and Aranda they are soooooooooo horrible. So tiring. Sure let fire the guy pay the huge buyout and NEVER be close to a championship team again. Who will come here after that? You need to take the emotional disdain you have for this guy and shelve it if you really want to look at this situation realistically. Take the emotion out of it. And before you make the retort that I am defending or backing Orgeron, I am to an extent. Regardless of who we hired you have got to give him time. I am not saying 3+ years, I am saying more than 1 year and a hell of a lot more than 4 games.
stil have more talent than anyone we played so far. yet O is proving that talent alone doesn’t win games. no way in hell it could possibly be the fault of the guy with one of the worst coaching records in the history of the SEC. it just HAS to be the guy who won over 100 games. sure, let’s take emotion out of it. i’m willing with numbers alone to debate this with you at anytime. no emotion, no hate. just raw data that points at the current regime. it’s not youth. 14 of our 22 starters against Troy were Juniors or Seniors. it’s not depth. we started getting pushed around on the first snap before anyone got tired. it’s not talent. we’ve never finished lower than 7th in recruiting, Troy never finished above 95th. And if “talent alone” is how Les won, then what does that say about O? he’s had easily the most talented roster on the field for every game so far this year.
it’s actually quite simple. you asked me to remove disdain/emotion with regards to O. yet you do not remove those when discussing Miles.
