How exactly do you think there is going to be legislation to override the SCOTUS ruling that corporations have freedom of speech and campaign donations are a protected under freedom of speech? No way to do it without a Constitutional Amendment. And that ain't gonna happen.
No, he clearly pointed back as an excuse. Some of it is warranted but people have had enough of that line. He again talked about taking office with wars, debt and recession upon him. He insinuated the financial rescues where more transparent under his watch then Bush's watch (who believes that?). He blamed Bush for the years of problems families have confronted. He blamed the last decade on a fake "economic expansion" and recklessness by the past administration. He blamed Bush for having to inherit a trillion in debt because he didnt pay for the war bills, tax cuts and drug programs. He mentioned what he inherited at least 4 or 5 times and danced around it more. All the polls show people have had enough of blaming Bush. The fact is, we are in the 3rd year of Dems controlling congress and people know that. You cant keep throwing out this "eight year" thing. People arent stupid. Its time to put up or shut up for this administration and this congress.
I think you missed the point of that comment, I thought it had more to do with foreign corporations having so much monetary power in our elections. The line is blurred in a sense because alot of the corporations have foreign ownership now, so in a sense legislation could potentially close a loop hole like that.
Really? And how exactly can the GOP Congressional Delegation do anything? They only have 1 power, and that is to filibuster. We are still in the same boat as before Mass. The Democratic power structure can ignore/refuse to parlay and force whatever they want down the throats of the American people. I agree that they need to sit down and come up with common sense solutions, it ain't gonna happen with Reid and Pelosi running the show. They will not concede to treating Republicans and Independents as equals.
they could actually come up with some bills, or legislation, work across party lines, instead of just sitting in their chairs twittering, shaking their heads and saying no.
So you are saying what I think is wrong because you think you heard it a different way? Really? Tell me what was wrong with what I stated? But if you are on about foreign entities having too much influence, Maybe he should have chastised the SCOTUS and some of the Courts of Appeal for publicly stating that they use international laws and decisions to formulate their rulings. For instance -- Supreme Court Justice's inconsistency on international law Oh and before you make anymore assumptions, I was for McCain/Feingold. In fact, I did not think it went far enough.
Ain't gonna happen because the party in charge treats the minority as scum. Both sides do this. In this case, The Dems have a very large majority really don't need anything from the Reps to rule. The only thing that is stopping the Dems from doing this are their idiot leadership.
I wasnt crafting it as an argument, I just had a different point, which I think you missed. You are moving it in a different direction now which is a diversionary tactic. I never said you were wrong, I said I think you missed the point. No, need to get so upset buddy:hihi: I see you dont like to be challenged. I made no assumptions, you didnt address that in your intial post, I think that was the main point. So oh well, you can be upset, i dont care. And you were for the McCain/Feingold act, but you just said.....? nevermind.
See my last post. Both parties do that. It just so happens that the Dems are the majority now. Or is the fact that nothing gets done when the Republicans are a "superminority" somehow the Republicans fault too?
