I know Les Miles has seen better days as our head ball coach but I can not help but to root for my beloved tigers. It's somewhat of a lose lose for us. If we lose more than 2 SEC games this year it will be hard to swallow considering the talent we have. If we end up taking the West this year and make it into the playoffs we have to put up with the mad hatter even longer. The only thing Miles has been able to do is find good assistant coaches especially on the defensive side of the ball. Chavis is the reason Miles was able to get away with running a vanilla offense in the SEC and now it looks like Aranda will again be another assistant to help Miles stay afloat as our offense continues to struggle. It's sickening but hell it has worked for damn near 12 seasons with no sign of it letting up.
Kevin Steele isn't going to get the talent he had at LSU but I think he could see the writing on the wall.
LSU is going to win some games but winning the West, the SEC, or making it to the playoffs ain't going to happen under Miles.
It all rest on the arm of Danny Etling. We built the offense around Fournette. Last year Fournette was able to average almost 6 yards a carry on the ground with a loaded box. If Etling is able to spread the ball around Fournette will light it up. I just know there's light at the end of the tunnel. It's not always how you start but how you finish. Bama will lose a game before they play us. I can see it...
9-3 is just good enough to keep him around. I think it would have to be a 7-5 season for them to fire him. 9-3 is pretty sporty IMO. We squeaked by a MSU that is without Dak now and was known not to be that good this season. Sure LF7 fumbled late and they scored, but the Defense didn't put up much of a roadblock on the 2 late scores. I think we have a 8-4 season if we are lucky. I hope we don't follow into UT's footsteps and hang on to our coach and mediocre teams so long that it hurts recruiting and it takes a rebuild. If we hover in this mediocrity for too long, players aren't going to come here. We want a good coach to step in while we have all this talent, just as Miles stepped into a top team.
