I completely agree with Pete Carroll. The BCS is a terrible system and we were lucky more than anything else that it worked out for us twice, but we could just as easily have been screwed by it. It HAS to be changed.
Well, they're in the same class as the BCS busters: you don't play anyone; therefore if you have one loss it's incredibly hard to argue your case (relative to what's going on that specific year). Unfortunately for ole Petey boy, everyone is beginning to catch on to the Pac 10 sham. What's there not to get? Florida beat both LSU and Georgia handedly. Both were highly ranked teams at the time. Oklahoma and Texas have had continued success against ranked teams in the Big XII, a conference which is getting a lot of respect this season. Who has USC beaten? Ohio State? Wow.
Funny you don't see him whine when his team jumps someone else(Georgia) despite that team not losing either. It's really not rocket science. If the teams you play wind up sucking ass, respect for your wins will drop dramatically. Oregon St exploited a weakness, and Ohio St just turned out to be bad. Need I even mention the relative weakness of the Pac 1? Tough luck trojans but your conference will forever be an albatross for you.
If your team is truly the best in the country, then logic dictates it shouldn't have any trouble navigating one of the worst schedules. Once again, this year's NC was gift-wrapped and handed to the Trojans and they dropped it. That's hardly something worthy of the nation's sympathy, Petey... Get over it and learn how to teach your egotistical Trojans some humility.
