Wow JayB, this is the second thread (that I know of) where you completely trash them. Look, I wanted them to play better too and admit that it looks like not much has changed from last year. But relax bud. We did win.

You know, as frustrating as it may be, if we play like that every game yet find a way to win, we're national champions. (I'm just using it as an example. I don't think it's actually going to happen.)

Save that stuff for when we actually lose a game.

And Peterson. How tired were you about halfway through the game? I know I was ready for bed. Try being out there and running around playin football at what feels like midngiht. I thought you were staying away from the board for a few days.. sooner rather than later?

I agree with CS on this one. It was a win, not a pretty win, but a win. LSU has won ugly lots of times, you don't smoke the competition every week.

I think everyone thought Wash. was "last year's Wash. team". It is obvious to me they improved a lot. Last year their QB went out for the year after 4 games, and they lost their best running back. Both were back out there tonight. Their new coaches have juiced up the program, and they had a lot of energy to take on a top tier program. Our fans underestimated the Wash. team, and that's part of the problem. Admit that, and our effort seems reasonable.

Our o-line needs some work as we were not able to spring Scott up the middle. Williams had a good night working the outside.

We have a soph. QB who was starting his third game. He looks like a good soph QB, but not as good as a very good polished jr. or sr. QB. I think some fans expected to see the first half of the bowl game against GT, and that won't happen every week.

It was the first game of the season. Kinks need to be worked out, but this was not UL-M we were playing.

Get off the ledge, and let's see what next week brings.

I liked Nevis and Josh Downs the little he was in there.

To be fair, Arizona St. was ranked #15 and Oregon St. went 7-5 that season.

But UDub was winless last year and has all new coaches. If this was Virginia Tech, we wouldn't be as worried, but this is Udub. Freaking UDub!

Will you feel differently if UW wins the Pac 10?

it really isn't the same team as last year - and Locker looked good - and he'll get better. And that little RB #1 (Polk?) sure looked fast.

Wouldn't be too surprised if UW wins quite a few this year.

OK, OK... forget washington for a second. i'll admit these guys were fired up (not convinced that they're "good" yet,) but what about the lackadaisical approach, crap game planning, total lack of effort? i'm livid. i'm not going to make ANY excuse for that. just like i don't think there is ANY excuse for this junk. yet people keep making excuses for why this game looked like it did. i'm worried that the players will view this game as a victory. listening to the players and the coaching staff after the game you would think that they put out an A+ game performance tonight. is that OK? i'm disappointed that LSU got outplayed. this washington team will not win more than 4 games. the crowd and coaching staff (and locker) are all they have. that polk guy wasn't that impressive, LSU just can't tackle. hawthorne said that locker was more talented that tebow. wtf ever. anyway.... i'm off of here for awhile until i cool down and (hopefully) forget this.

It's all good JayB. I think your psycho posts are simply a part of a "knee-jerk" reaction. Cool down for a couple of days and I am confident that you will feel a little better about the game tonight.

I think Washington is a different team this year. I saw a good game plan. Misdirection killed us. Good pass protection and a good QB. If their receivers hung on to more balls this might have been a diff. game. To me, Washington is a good team. Now if they lose the rest of their games, I'll have to chalk it up to poor play on LSU.

I guess I would, but if that's the case, NO ONE on this board should talk smack about how the Pac-10 sucks in comparison to the SEC for a while. Arguably one of the worst Pac-10 teams handled one of the best SEC teams quite well.

We like to trash talk the Pac-10, until they give us a run for our money. Then, we make excuses, and go back to trashing the Pac 10 the following week. USC would have smoked us.

The bottom line is that we know how weak this team is and how weak the Pac-10 is. THAT is why people are frustrated. Everyone, except for Lee Corso apparently, thought we would throttle UDub.

I'm hoping it was just jitters/fluke/time difference/weather/[add your excuses here] and that we take care of business from here on out.
