My name is Kevin and im a senoir at Liberty Benton High School in Findlay,Oh and i would like my sophmore buddy to someday meet me a LSU and this cvould be the way in. He just shattered the field goal record in our area, propably the state by kicking not 1, but 2 40+ yrd field goals. His first was a easy 43 yrd chip shot, which broke the school record by 10+. His next one was a record breaker aswell, only this was his own record has he easily made a 47 yrd field goal. He can't drive a car yet, but he can sure drive the ball. Also, he caught 2 touchdown passes. His name is Mike Bucsh. Look out for him in somebody's recruiting book in a year or 2.
Good luck to the kid. Not likely that LSU will recruit a FG kicker all the way from Ohio. But then again, if he's kicking them from 60 on a consistent basis, anything is possible.
i think outside of 40 consistently would work with the occasional 50 yard bombs under pressure but most can til under the lights. How did a 43 yarder break the school record by 10? Caught 2 td passes? I heard Tulane may be interested in recruiting him @ QB.
The previous school record was 33 yards? That's the eqivalent of kicking an extra point after having a 15 yd celbration penalty added on. I wish him luck but I don't think that makes him a blue chipper. The kicker from my high school got a scholly to Missou which I think was pretty good since kickers usually don't get offered. He broke our school record with a 59 yarder. I remember lining up for the kick and the guy that I was blocking was saying "no f'ing way is he going to make this".
thibideaux kid i played against, who plays for McNeese now, kicked 4 field goals of over 50 yards and two more from over 40. We still kicked their ass though because he was all they had. He was asked to walk on @ lsu using tops but decided against it because his family is pretty poor.I wish your friend luck but he still has a long way to go being a kicker.
59 yarder A guy from STM kicked a 59 yarder in a loss to Notre Dame h/s in 2000. The official did not think it was gonna make it but it just kept going and he backed up and tripped over his own feet and called it good from the ground. The rest of the game every time STM got within 60 yards we were screaming Field Goal.
