Due to their lack of passing game and our ability to decently handle the run. I think the line would've prolly been a -1 if the game was on a neutral field.
If you look at Ga Techs losses they are to some VERY average teams, Virginia and they only score 7 pts against North Carolina. Va Tech. My point, you have to get ready for that tricked up offense of theirs. Fact is there is game film on how to beat Ga. Tech. Of course there is tons of game film on how to beat LSU. Stop the run force them to pass, and throw the ball. The latter Ga Tech really doesnt have in their bag of tricks. I guess my point, this game is VERY winnable for LSU. BUT here is the kicker if LSU gets down early the "Here we go again" mentality with creep in I am afraid and we might see a mail in. At this point I am taking the 4 points. But I am thinking of taking Ga Tech in the first half as LSU seems to give every team a nice 10-14 point lead before they ever start really playing. Also as for Les Miles ATS. I have made some REALLY good money betting against LSU in the first half. But you are correct they cover rarely... More so big lines. Miss State, Troy, Tulane, etc. One big money maker this year. OU they have covered every spread except two I believe (Kansas, UT), and usually in the first half. Machines....
All I know is that we have 3+ weeks to prepare for an outdated offense. I know practice doesn't simulate game time, but I'd much rather play a wishbone team with this defense than a spread team. I think..
I think people are forgetting that Georgia Tech's defense is not terrible. They cause a decent amount of turnovers that give their offense a short field. If I were a betting man I would take LSU and the points but I am not. I also would never bet against LSU because of the principle of the deal.
That line will drop like a rock in the last couple days before the game. Big money will go on LSU. We out man them at almost every position.
I still think it is a thing of beauty to see the triple option run properly. When you have skilled discplined athletes running this attack it can be devastating. See Nebraska in the 90s.
