The horse was out of the barn. Armitage told Novak and Novak published it. Libby lied about what he knew and paid the price.

Excuse me Attorney Stickler, I should have said a Bush witch hunt.

The leak was Armitage and the reason Bush didn't pardon Libby was because he wanted to respect the jury's verdict.

There's a difference between pardoned and commuted. You should look it up and learn something.

I meant Cheney wanted Libby pardoned, and actually got into it with Bush about it, and equated it to a leaving a fellow warrior wounded on the field of battle.

He commuted his sentence so that he never had to go to jail. Bush "took care of him" all right.

So why didn't Bush punish Armitage?

You act like a commuted sentence is doing hard time, professor. A commuted sentence is "pardon light". It amounts to the same thing . . . Libby never went to jail. He was "taken care of".

He's still a convicted felon. With a pardon, it never happened. Scooter didn't go to jail but he lost everything.

The press hated Bush. The last thing he needed was some blabbermouth in his house.
