hell no! he was a crappy head coach before he got to auburn and he was blessed with having maybe the best player college football has ever seen on his first team (haven't researched that...just know your post doesn't make sense to me). he also had the best defensive player in the country in nick fairly on that team. even charles barkley spoke out against on the chizik hire because of his crappy record at his previous college (i think iowa state).
Once he's done at Auburn, ol' Gene may be better of making a living as a Tom Glavine impersonator than a football coach. Dude is awful.
I lived in Iowa for a few years. He had a mobile QB at Iowa State that gave him his best season there... but over all he sucked with the Cyclones.
