Last week, Pat Dye said in a radio interview that Chizik will be back as the Auburn coach in 2013, even if Auburn doesn't win another game and finishes 1-11... the radio show host asked Dye if Chizik would survive this season if things don’t improve after the worst September in the program’s history. “Listen,” Dye said. “He wouldn’t be in trouble if he didn’t win another game.” So Chizik will return no matter what? “Absolutely,” Dye said.
Thats great news for the rest of the SEC. Now the NCAA just needs to keep tabs on Trooper and the AU checkbook.
I know Pat Dye has a ton of influence at AU, but as far as I know, he's no longer OFFICIALLY employed by the school, although I'm sure he's got the right peoples' ears. I do know the big money boosters, who also have a ton of influence, are not happy with Chizik. If they have one more embarrassing lose and/or get blown out by Bama, I'm not sure even Pat Dye's influence will be able to save him.
I wonder if Reed and Robinson wish they could return the money and have a do over..... What an epic fail that team has become.
