I'm not sure I'd want to see the HC doing that. However, the position coach should've been out there kickin' his butt all the way to the bench and THEN got up in his face and yelled till the kid cried for mercy. :cuss:

I would've liked to see it. That way, the nation and the LSU fans can see that the head coach cares for this football team not becoming like Miami. I know we're not, but to hug the guy and talk to him "with force" and then letting the guy back in the game on the same drive was pitiful ans showed more of the give-up mentality we've seen so much of this season.

CP, you are probably right. A pizzed off Miles might have help light a fire. I mean, he gets after the Refs sometimes, and that seems to fire up the team.

I have to admit I was SHOCKED when Tremaine Johnson cost the team the game and CLM or SOME COACH didn't get in his face. I would've benched him for the rest of his career - even if it was just the last quarter of a game. A senior doing that! Maybe he didn't learn anything in college after all. Very disappointing.

I'll bet CLM didn't "enjoy" that drive. :geaux:

TJ was pointing at his face/eyes as if someone poked him or spit at him. As he is telling that to CLM, CLM looked to be certainly telling him that it was a bonehead move - as TJ walks away CLM pats in on the back as if to say "that's alright, you are still my player and I support you." Is this a bad interpretation? I do not think anything was wrong with that. I could certainly see a coach berating a player at that same moment, but that is not CLMs style - he is a nurturer, it seems. Is that really that bad? Don't get me wrong, I was pissed at that penalty, too, but certain coaches handle things differently, and one style is not necessarily better than another.

They would've had to put me in restraints... after he kicked that ball off the field, for what seems to me to be one of the dumbest things i've seen an LSU player do, you'd have seen me drop kicking his phuckin helmet over to the Arky side of the field and then you'd see the retard on the sidelines with his pads off.
It's one thing to lose a jard fought game, even to a lesser oppenant but to lose a game to a team like Arky because of a stupid and childish penalties... i'd have them all running stadium steps today until they puked up their breakfast lunch and dinner.

I disagree wth this. The fire starts at the top, and Miles has none. He's not a gameday coach.

I guess it depends on if your style works or not.. Miles style of discipline is not working this year so something needs or needed to change.. to late to discuss it now as this season is a bummer. IMO its a war out there & the head coach needs to be a warrior - tough!!!

That sounds like the perfect solution to an overreaction on the field - overreaction on the sideline by a coach. Leading by example, showing how to manage frustration and anger, yeah, that sounds like it would have worked. It would have led to future good self-control, too, I presume, say in an important game next year in a similar situation. I need to react like my coaches do, get pissed and slam someone. Yeah, sounds like a good, productive response.

We certainly start the game slow, and in that way I do not think he is a good gameday coach. But since the Tenn. second half debacle his first year, we have been an excellent second half team, so in that way he is a great in-game coach. Depends on how you look at it, I think.

Or maybe your style of coaching would be to bring the dumb a$$ a plate of cookies and a glass of milk and reward him for his boneheadedness, i'm sure that would light a fire under their a$$es.
I'm not saying Miles needs to be a Hitler on the sidelines, but THAT particular penalty, if at no other time, should lit Miles up. Our coaches walk the sidelines like mummies most of this season... there's zero emotion and accountability for these mistakes that keep taking place.
