I just love it when a plan DOESN'T come together:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
very much so. dems are gonna have to do some serious regrouping. the dnc has got to be in complete meltdown about now. if this doesnt show them they need to shift towards the center to survive, nothing will. now if we could get rid of pelosi and reid......
Reid is likely gone. He is getting hammered in polls right now and there isnt anything he can do to separate himself from the stench voters are rejecting.
does anyone else see the incredible irony in the fact that it is ted kennedy's seat that will ultimately kill this healthcare bill. He's got to be rolling over in his grave
I agree. Obama has allowed them to run the country in to the ground. He has a big decision to make. He can either allow them to continue their path of destruction or shun them and move back toward the middle. I've said it many times that this is the worse Congress in our nation's history. Hopefully Brown will represent the people and not become a typical Massachusetts politician. Just like Louisiana, I think it may be good to have Senators from different parties representing your state. Mary Landrieu sat on her rear until Vitter was elected. That's when she felt a little pressure and started to act.
She was just re-elected in 08. She has another 5 years for the political climate to change and to put that out of the voters minds. As long as the GOP cannot produce a quality candidate against her, she will remain in office.
it also gives her time to do a lot of other things to try to establish herself as a moderate. but its gonna take a lot to offset that one thing. if she were on the wrong side of a little noticed issue, she could down play it pretty easily. something with this much press, this much national discussion, and this big a bullet.... gonna take a LOT to keep a republican from scoring points on that.
True...but she's not a dominant winner and could be vulnerable depending on her politics during the next three years. She may eventually have to distant herself from this administration. Louisiana has voted for a Republican Senator (that never happened before in our lifetime) and has voted for a few Republican Governors in the last few decades. We have been a one-party state for most of our modern history and it hasn't gotten us far in regards to quality of life categories. I think some are starting to come around and understand the most prosperous areas of the state are NOT being led by Democrats. Maybe the answer is more Republicans...maybe the answer is more of a Republican/Democrat split...but we have tons of PROOF (somebody here likes that word :lol that Democrats are NOT the answer.
I do and I'm loving every solitary second of it. That is if the dirty bastards don't push it through before he can be seated. That is the latest that I've heard is that good ol' Harry wants to pull the "the paperwork hasn't been filed" ploy so they can still keep their 60 votes. What a bunch of back alley pussies.
Just knowing the electorate here, she has 5 years to swing the political tide back in her favor. I'm not saying it won't take a lot to do it but I still think unless the GOP comes up with a quality candidate that can capitalize on her big mistakes, she is a good enough politician to keep her seat in 2014.
