Charles Hanifriff and Allen Risher talked about it on their postgame radio show on ESPN 104.5 FM. Maybe there is a podcast at their website
Geez dude, give an NSFD (not safe for dudes) disclaimer next time. That beach looks like a sausage fest. No women anywhere in site.
Fournette talking about eye-gouging and looks like this covers what Florida fans were talking about. Sounds like big boy football to me. Striking Fouls and Tripping ARTICLE 2. a. No person subject to the rules shall strike an opponent with the knee; strike an opponent’s helmet (including the face mask), neck, face or any other part of the body with an extended forearm, elbow, locked hands, palm, fist, or the heel, back or side of the open hand; or gouge an opponent (A.R. 9-1-2-I). http://www.ncaapublications.com/productdownloads/FR15.pdf
Open hand to the helmet and shoving are two different things, right? I am beginning to think this falls under the same principles as the head slap rule in the league.
You're missing the point. To the helmet. Scroll back up and read the rule again. I ran across this a few years ago with this play ... I didn't find the rule after searching a bit the other day and one of the staff on RTB posted it earlier. Where's the open handed shove?
That dude isn't a ball carrier. Gonna call for the stiff arm to be outlawed next? To be clear I have no issue banning a stiff arm where a guy grabs the face mask and pulls, but a hard shove by a ball carrier, that's football.
