Don 't count on it if it happens DURING a game. lol I was impressed that he'd called the fake...until I learned Krag and Co. asked him to run it.
It's the Shaquille Syndrome. When you are a dominant consensus All-American the referees don't cut you a lot of slack. The whistles came very late on some of those running plays that got stuffed and the defenders pushed Fournette around some trying to get another fumble out of him. But we would be the first to scream if the refs started blowing quick whistles just before Fournette spins out of an arm tackle and sprints for a first down. If you are The Man, then be The Man.
Morons in Birmingham have a tendency to allow shit like this because they think he can take it. What it does is put his future at risk. Much as I hate injury lawyers, I wouldn't mind seeing someone hurt by their negligence file a suit directly against the officiating office.
Interestingly, gay turds are suggesting on their forums that Fournette will never get flagged for "punching" because he is "special" and gets cut a lot of slack. Some of them think UF shut him down because he didn't break a big one after "talking smack all week". Perspective.
Does speak to how "big" a threat he is to opponents when they consider holding him to 180 is shutting him down. Even funnier, they may be right.
I heard Les is going to speak to the SEC head of officials about it. Once his forward progress has been stopped and he is being pushed backwards they should blow the whistle instead of letting them stand him up so another player who hadn't been involved in the play can take a cheap shot at him
I don't have a problem with them waiting to blow the whistle, the problem I have is with them continuing to try to tackle him 10 seconds after the whistle has blown.
