I am looking forward to "Gay Divorce Court" on TV !! Think of it...there will be more catfights than Jerry Springer !! As long as there's no gay..."Nice Heinie" thread, I'm cool.
People who make this dumb argument clearly don't understand the ministry of Jesus. Jesus spoke out about the the interpretations and laws he thoughHt the Jews were getting all wrong. His silence on homosexuality indicates he agreed with the norms of the day.
(In)tolerance is a word that is used frequently but it's real meaning is somewhat lost. It implies right and wrong....not just difference of opinions or beliefs. Something may be tolerated....because it's different, but differing beliefs can be polar opposites and one belief may be wrong. Truth is ultimately absolute and not relative. In this issue of gay marriage there is a lot of right and wrong on both sides.
That's because Jesus was gay. He had a prostitute clean his feet with her hair. Did he knock the bottom out of it? Nope. He was an unmarried, Hebrew rabbi that was a mama's boy and traveled the country-side with 12 dudes whom he openly professed love for. It doesn't get any gayer than that. Obviously I'm being humorous, but for all we know it's possible. Nothing is mentioned of Jesus' sexuality. There is no reference of an act of celebacy, just as there is not reference to his feelings towards gay people in specifics. He did mention loving everyone and he did treat outcast people equally, much to the dismay and scorn of people who professed to "follow him". To this day, that seems to be the case. Only Jesus isn't alive to put them in their place, so their ideas of immorality and how we should treat people run unchecked. In other words "I don't really know what Jesus said, but I like to think that he was against homosexuality because that fits in with my personal belief system." This is the problem with an old religious book. It says what you personally want it to say.
The Scripture is pretty clear about homosexual acts being a sin....in both old and new testaments. And MLU is right about Jesus treating outcasts equally. The Catholic Church has an interesting position on this as expressed in its Catechism... Christians sin when they feel hate or even dislike for gay people...much less progress on to discrimination. So from a Christian perspective, Gays are sinners when the engage in homosexual acts, but we're all sinners....so join the club.
Because it's only the right wing that makes an issue out of it. While some on the left may think that marriage should be between a man and a woman, most of them could give a fuck less. It's just you right wing crazies who on one hand talk about less government, but on the other hand want government to control people's lives. As long as they aren't you of course.
So now you know what Jesus thought in his mind. What insight. Please point out where Jesus spoke out on homosexuality. That's right you can't.
Then why don't you explain to us what the ministry of Jesus really was. Because unless my Bible is a misprint, Jesus gave one commandment and that was for us to love one another as he loves us. Nowhere in that commandment is there room for interpretation. It's cut and dry. I am brimming with excitement to hear this because you are 100% completely wrong. furthermore, quit doing this kind of crap. it gives Christians a bad name for you to be out there judging others and openly making claims about Jesus that are utterly false. I hate it when I tell people I am a Christian and they recoil because the new definition of Christian is hate monger because of crap like this.
