It's not about the principle of being gay, I could care less. It's how they will now be forced to go out of their way to mention:

" oh btw, this famous person takes it up the butt"

IMO, it has nothing to do with history. I could careless who George Washington boned as I could care less who Alexander boned. This is of no concern to "PUBLIC" school students.

Jesus if this doesn't signal that this country is heading towards another civil war, I don't know what does.

What a bunch of f-ing twits.

It doesn't make any diffrence at all if a person was gay or not. Does it matter if Salk was gay or straight when he invented the polio vaccine? Does it matter if ford was straight or gay when he developed the assembly line method of manufacturing autos?
It shouldn't have anything to do with history. Why separate gay and straight history? Have important people been left out of history books because they were gay? Why does it matter and why even mention it?
As far as gay marriage, I don't think government should be involved in marriage. I prefer the term marriage be used in a traditional form. I have said before that gays should have all the legal rights of straight couples. I would prefer it be called a civil union but if it's called a marriage it really doesn't affect my life at all. I would prefer if people would keep their sexuality to themselves and especially if the schools would limit talking about sex to the biology of it and STD prevention.

One should never use that word in a thread about gays.

In a school history class why would an individuals sexuality ever need to come up. Maybe if the subject of study was Oscar Wilde his sexuality was important to the things he did I could understand it. If the subject was Leonidas I don't see why his occasional greek style would matter.

How many would vote to kick California out of the union if given the chance? How many would vote , from the heartland and south east and south west, to legally secede and form a new country minus the west coast and new England? California will default and I hope the reps hold the line and refuse to bail them out. Let them drown in their progressive paradise.
