Re: Florida's football trophy shatters I wonder what they did with all the broken pieces of the holy, sacred crystal?
According to one of the players that was visiting UF it was a recruit that knocked it over...WR prospect out of Florida.
http://www2.tbo.com/content/2008/apr/16/sp-bull-china-shop-broken-trophy/?sports-colleges-gators By BILL WARD The Tampa Tribune Published: April 16, 2008 TAMPA - Gator Nation, the mystery is solved. It was Plant High tight end Orson Charles who broke your 2006 BCS National Championship trophy Friday in Gainesville. It was, of course, an accident. And Charles said he is genuinely sorry for knocking the handcrafted Waterford crystal off a coffee table and onto the ground, where, just outside of Coach Urban Meyer's office, it shattered. While in Gainesville competing in a Nike training camp, Charles said he and another prep player were touring the football stadium. That's where the BCS trophy, along with Gators quarterback Tim Tebow's Heisman Trophy, were on display. While leaning over to take a photo of the Heisman, the 6-foot-3, 225-pound Charles said he bumped into the BCS trophy - he thinks with his backside - and knocked it to the ground.
I am sure he will look back and enjoy what he did because he is close to being a Miami lock. I atleast know the Miami fans will enjoy that.
saw this and had to post it...pretty funny, no offense Gator fans, but I had to repost it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8T6iE75g5s couldn't get the embedded version to work...
