My primary focus right now is the fact that we are a better team than in 2010! Gators - not as good Vols - better Auburn - not as good Bama - man it was to early when I first wrote this - Bama is not as balanced a team as 2010 - but they still look awesome With this thinking we should have a good chance at beating all 4 of these teams !
Auburn beat SC and are a team to be worried about. We're better than they are but the rivalry says it will be a close game. Glad it's at home is all I have to say. Bama has more issues at QB than LSU does. LSU will need to get this kid to make some mistakes. I think we will.
Did you see the game last night - Demps and Rainey rushing for negative yardage the first half, and we could not run against Kentucky yesterday...at least not initially. Ala's defense is big and fast like ours, but with better LBs. Upshaw is a head hunter. I saw some holes created by Kent's offensive line that were quite large. Their running back was stopped, but Demps and Rainey could have blazed a trail through those gaps. And no doubt in my mind a couple of those throws by Lee could have been picked off by bama's secondary - the ones where he rolled out and threw downfield into double coverage. Dont get me wrong...I am loving this team this year, and we finally have some consistency on the offensive side of the ball. But we will have our hands full with the tide. They are the real deal. And Aub beat SC at home yesterday. I think we can do it - win the 4 games, but its going to be tough, especially in T-town Nov 5th. I think this game will prob have the biggest implications in terms of sec and/or bcs champion. :geaux:
What issues? AJ is simply staying within the confines of what coach Saban wants him to do, coaches him to do and calls plays for him to do. Plenty of poise in the pocket, has a very good arm and is getting the team in and out of the plays at the line of scrimmage. That place was a mad house last night and they scored quick and it was deafening and he didn't flinch. On the 3rd and long, deep in our territory AJ made a great throw to Maze on the sideline for a key 2nd half first down that finally got us moving to put it out of reach. No happy feet, no stupid throws into double coverage, no lobbing the ball in the air for D-backs to take aim at.
Hey Tusk I watched that game with one of my Bama friends ! He was loving him some #3 last night. What I am trying to say is that I think you guys had a better team last year on paper but I am not sure you guys played a game last year like you played the Gators. That was a wooping and I enjoyed it. We beat the Gators after you guys gutted them but it will still count. I am still going with LSU in that red hell place you call home. We slow down #3 you guys going to have issues. LSU!:LSU231::LSU231::LSU231:LSU!
i've got total confidence our team's gonna beat bama. i watched the game last night and know the Tigahs gonna take em down. just like the oregon game i can feel it. we dominated the ducks on the ground and in the air and bamas mainly ground and pound like us. our running backs 1 2 punch gonna hurt them and jl's gonna move us down the field on them. les hasn't opened the playbook yet. :tigereye:
Is there anything more slimy than the auburn tigers? Talk about someone having dirt on a coach, what must S. Garcia have over the OBC? SC should have run away with this game but instead pissed it away.
Michigan State comes to mind. But last years team is not going to come close to the product we see on the field this year. Personnel on this team is veteran and that experience is partly the reason there is no answer with scheme or speed. Bama could match it talent wise last year, but the focus and the motivation of this team is dynamically different. It's easy for me to see that our defense is getting beyond special Ultimately just as I believed when you played the ducks, I believe that personnel and coaching and schedule to some degree, will help decide things. It's early yet, but so far, so good. I didn't think you would see the same Florida team in the back end of the gator double header, especially at home. I would guess that Trey Burton will see some snaps this week in practice. They will put up a fight, but they won't have near enough bullets to hurt this LSU team.
You guys are more confident than I am about the Bama game. Their QB didn't make many mistakes and completed some hard passes. Then they have a 1 - 2 punch at RB that's just as equal if not slightly better than LSU. The problem I have is I think they're gonna be able to stop the run easier than we're gonna be able to. Nov. 5th is gonna be a battle guys.
