Les Miles made this decision. He can have any parliamentary process he chooses, go through any football related activity he can imagine. At the end of the day, he is the head coach at LSU. That makes him the boss. Hill is back on the team and what Patterson is hoping to affect with these comments is simple. He is saying, I know hill is back, but at least suspend him for the opener as I did my best player. It's decent strategy. Les will have plenty of media pressure as it is, much less Patterson bringing the heat. Patterson feels strong about discipline or he wouldn't continue to handle his players the way he has, but I also know that rascal wants to whip LSU and the SEC with every fiber of his being.
Les is going to make that bastard prepare for our running game, just to sit JH and sling it to all the receivers when TCU comes out stacking the box. THAT'S decent strategy.
That would be awesome. I hope HIll sits this game, not only to shove it in GP's face that we have plenty of run game without JH, but also to enforce some disciplinary action on JH. I think he needs to sit for a few games to show the rest of the team that sucker punching and bar fights will cost you PT. But AT, I hope you are right. I hope it is a pitch and catch fest. Hopefully CLM will let the OC have the reigns on play calling and let him open it up if needed.
You don't bring a Cam Cameron to Baton Rouge without letting him do his thing. That being said, Cam's style is similar to everything we've been running. We likely WILL run first, but the passing game will likely be a little more diversified.
Being a douche bag is a decent strategy to you but not to most. In baseball, we played Oklahoma in the Super Regional (Sweet Sixteen). They had a stud pitcher who was a man among boys who ended up drafted #3 overall. Before he played us, he failed an MLB drug test for the draft showing he took a drug banned by the NCAA. Because it wasn't an NCAA or school drug test, he was still eligible to play (it's a weird loophole). The Oklahoma head coach, AD and the Oklahoma higher ups decided to let him play. While of course there were LSU fans bitching about it, i would have been disappointed had our head coach done so. Our head coach was classy, said he respected the Oklahoma AD and coach's decision and talked a lot about how excited he was to see what we had against one of the best pitchers in the country (saying he'd have the best seat in the house etc). He'd have looked like a douche bag had he whined about Oklahoma playing him against us in the Super It'd be like Saban whining about Manziel not being suspended for your early game against aTm (hell we even have fans hoping Manziel doesn't get suspended because they want aTm to play their best against us) What makes it even much more douchebag on Patterson's part is that Hill is nowhere near as important as that pitcher was to Oklahoma or Manziel to aTm
Bullshit! Miles has shown on more than one occasion that he will suspend or even kick players off the team if he feels the situation warrants it. He owes NO ONE an explanation.
Hill was severely punished for hitting that dude one time, with just his hand. I'd rather be suspended a few games than get the punishment Hill got
Comments from Frog fans on a Frog forum: I think it could have been handled better with a simple, Bob Stoops type of answer where he pleads ignorant to the whole issue. Just sort of, "oh really. I'm not focused on LSU's running back drama, we're playing who they line up against us. I don't know much about what us going on there." If they inquire further, just continue to shoot it down. GP is being construed as the bad guy in this. So many people slamming GP GP shouldn't have made a story of it. Me thinks Patterson was trigger happy given our recent issues. I kinda wish Patterson hadn't addressed the issue with Hill being "reinstated" Yep. honestly, i thought it a bit odd for Patterson to speak out on the subject given the troubles our team has been going through over the last couple years. Lots of people saying Gary is a hypocrite since he let Casey come back.
