Then kindly explain why we have a two-headed monster at DC, instead of a Jon Tenuta or a Wil Muschamp? Were they just dying to come to BR and we were kept in the dark about it?

rewarding 2 members of his staff for winning the NC I believe.

didnt pan out but he must have thought they were up for the job.

then again he wanted to bring over that dude from okie state who was his DC at the time until convinced otherwise. actually until his hand was forced.

keeping jimbo was forced as well if i remember correctly.

OK, then this is his goof, and he should be held accountable for it.

So...this turns (as I said before) into DiNardo, Part Deux. He stubbornly remains loyal to his two guys at DC and we go 5-7 or 4-8 next year, and he's fired. To hear Red tell it, LSU can get anybody we want to coach here. Do we go after Urban Meyer?

I think he tried to hire within the family this time, since he thought they would keep much of Pellini's defense and should have known how to run it. Just like Skip tried to hire within the family when he gave Smoke a shot.

If either one of them had wanted to go outside and find a top candidate they could have. Les had no problem attracting Crowton and Skip had no problem attracting Maineri. Top candidates will take an offer from LSU seriously. LSU has been a very good stop for former coordinators like Muschamp, Jimbo, and Pellini. Crowton, too.

Gratitude is a pretty dumb reason to put your future in somebody else's hands.

It was simply promoting from within. It's done in every sort of business. It doesn't always work, however.
