I have no idea where people get the idea that Jimbo is a respected OC. He had some marginal success at LSU as the OC with the talent that Saban stocked up on. He had tremendous success developing and recruiting QB's, which is his forte. I have a feeling that he will be a better Head Coach than Offensive Coordinator.

His offenses were anything but imaginative and he rarely took advantage of all of his weapons like Crowton has. In fact, I am sure that I am violating some ethics rule by posting Jimbo Fisher and Gary Crowton in the same post. Crowton's OC skillz are from another planet; One with an atmosphere that Jimbo Fisher's puny lungs could not handle. It is rarified air.

That is no slight against Fisher. He has enjoyed success and has earned every bit of it, but I refuse to call a spade anything other than a spade.

I'm pretty happy with Crowton and I wasn't sad to see Jimbo go. I think the majority realize they saw a more innovative offense last season with Crowton as OC.

Crowton is a wizard with an offense, I agree with that. Look for him to have J.Lee ready for the season. Look for J.Lee to be smart enough to play within the offense and flourish for the next few years.

Perhaps because we won 3 SEC and 1 National Championships while he was here and was widely recognized as one of the best OC's in college ball. I have no idea why people have to make Jimbo out to be some kind of doofus just because they like Crowton. It ain't a friggin' contest.

LSU has been fortunate to have two top offensive coordinators in a row.

    Jimbo was a dud.

FSU's not lighting up the scoreboard these days either.

Yeah, I agree. Different is not worse, it's just different.

I have to admit I like Crowton's scheme better. But that doesn't mean Fisher isn't a good OC.

Fla State is down right now. Not sure Jimbo's current record completely reflects his own ability.

He was competent, but nothing that kept DC's up at night...

I'd pay good money to watch you debate Jimbo on the intricacies of offensive Xs and Os.
