I agree and let me say that no one will be watching Florida State's offense more than I. After what I've seen from our offense early and often this year their is no doubt in my mind that Crowton is superior to Jimbo. I give Jimbo credit because of what he was able to accomplish but he is too conservative with his playcalling in my opinion but it is ones perspective isn't it. Saban's staff played with different strategy of winning such as conservative offense and let the defense win the game. Miles staff to winning is open up the offense, lets dominate on offense and defense. I haven't seen an LSU offense like this in years hopefully we can't keep it up. What a blast it would be to have games like this week after week.
I give Jimbo a lot of credit for the success that we have had over the years but it was time for him to move on. The thing that bothered me the last few years was the fact that he wasn't always that conservative. Remember the Rohan Davey/Josh Reed days? He was either reigned in by Saban/Miles, grew more conservative over time, or didn't trust the talent enough to open the offense up.
Another thing- we ran 73 plays last night. Against MSU we ran 72. Last year we averaged about 64. Crowton does a better job of getting the plays to the huddle faster and getting the guys lined up faster than Jimbo.
We are averaging 4 more minutes in time of possession so far this year than we did last year. Thats why we are running more plays, not because Crowton is faster at getting plays in and lining guys up.
You have watched AU play this year, right? Perhaps they have a great defense, but there's one important thing here. They CAN'T score.
Of course, maybe we have more minutes of possession because of faster and better play-calling - faster play-calling gives the defense less time to get their act together.
