He is doing the same crap he was doing last year.

Run Scott on 1st and 2nd from I formation.... duh, everyone and their grandmother knows what you are going to do.

Jefferson isn't going to improve at QB just like Lee really didn't improve if the playcalling keeps being like this.... just like last year.

After the first two runs, which were successful, I kept wondering when he was going to finally let Jordan throw it.

a lot of this play calling is les miles.

les miles, a former o-lineman, wants to line up and physically just beat you. just beat the hell out of you. and that has nothing to do with the scoreboard.

he wants the team we play to physically feel it the next day. that's how a lineman thinks.

and you know what? for the most part i like this. it works when you play a team like UW or vanderbilt. it will absolutely not work when you're playing teams that have talent as good or better than you.

until les miles lets gary crowton call a finesse game plan we will play slow, physical football.

I don't agree that Jefferson isn't going to improve. He's a more complete QB than Lee, who absolutely, positively could NOT, would NOT run the ball. And let's not even get started on his short passing game.

The playcalling was disappointing last night, but I really do think Crowton and Miles were trying to get Jefferson some confidence.

islstl: be realistic. JJ is a kid, same age as J-Lee was last year. This was what, his third start for LSU? And JJ isn't a Mark Barkley, and even USC was conservative when it came to their passing game yesterday with Barkley. That is smart. Read the stat line: NO INTERCEPTIONS. Remember last year? We have two good veteran running backs and a solid OL. It's no surprise that LSU and USC were conservative in the passing game and relied more on their running games. Now granted, come the likes of teams like Florida... we are going to have to rely on JJ performing at the caliber of a veteran QB... but we need to ease him into that role against teams like Washington. I honestly don't see any problem with what LSU or USC is doing with their young QBs... and in fact, I think it is smart.

Play calling was downright atrocious which coincidentally describes the offensive line play from last night.

With some better protection and a more reasonable game plan i don't see why we wouldn't have hung 50 or more on them last night.

Wow. Yeah, everytime a team doesn't hang 50 on another team means they must be doing something wrong. Get real.

It has nothing to do with how many points... when they get major SEC play that Scott up the middle crap isn't going to work and in the mean time the team and the QB get no real experience even if the Scott up the middle works in the first few games.

Spread the freaking ball around. There is a time to give the hammer, right now the offense needs to improve... I am sure they got the Scott up the middle play memorized by now.

    Toliver saved the game IMHO.

So you think we put together a well rounded and solid performance last night? Talk about "get real".

Given our level of sheer talent and athleticism not hanging 50 plus on a team working with much less talent is indicative of something being wrong.

It was obvious they were trying ease Jefferson into being a starter, and I appreciate and understand that strategy. I think Jordan proved that he's ready to have more responsibility. I love how he can scramble out of a bad play. He certainly has a bright future.
