Wow. After reading that I am speechless. Seriously... there is absolutely NOTHING funny about it whatsoever. I guarantee you not a single ONE of the people who posted that crap could play half as well. It is sad that people can be so completely entrenched in their own perfect world that they are oblivious to others' feelings. It must be nice to be so damn perfect all the time. So the guy isn't the greatest QB, that sucks. But it is what it is. And I believe he is doing his best. Which may not be good enough sadly, but not worth all the backlash. These comments are the ugliest form of hate in these times we live in. Sickening. They are cutting this kid down hard. I just hope his skin is thick enough to reject the negativity and move on.
agreed, I hate twitter and I just took time to sign on and tweet something (tweet number 1 for me; hate that damn program) positive to Jennings. Wish more people seeing this crap would do something like that to off set the morons who thought this would be a great idea, much less decent to do to someone.
Its one thing to be critical of a player's performance on the field but death threats, even by some anonymous internet sicko is way over the line. One Harvey Updyke in the world is one too many.
Right, and not just the death threats. If you read that crap and imagine it is aimed at you, try to imagine what it would do to your self esteem. He's young yet, that stuff is still harmful. It's not fair play. Sure, we've criticized his playing here and that is fine. But we haven't chopped at him like this. I am sorry for him and ashamed to be a fan with the likes of these people who claim to also be fans.
As for myself, it wouldn't hurt my self esteem one bit. It would just piss me off. A quarterback is supposed to be cocky and self confident.
So true, but a 19 yr old kid just now beginning to experience life may take it personally. I'm hoping the good tweets outweigh the bad.
If he's got the stones a good qb should have he'll just say fuck you to the haters and go out and try to proove the wrong.
Exactly, let's not forget that their ego is what brought them to social media in the first place. I'm in no way condoning the actions of the idiots but you have to be prepared for backlash if you muck it up.
Aren't we essentially speaking about the same situation with why #31 ever saw the field at LSU on the defensive end? Jennings is pretty darn close to the offensive equivalent. He can call the plays and hand off the ball pretty well. But beyond that......? Am I far off here? $4.3 million dollars decided that those two young men were more than worthy of seeing the field and being an integral part of our success of failure. $4.3 million. That's simply unacceptable.
ajj started over harris because as i said long ago, we dont want to pass. we want to not make mistakes. passing is irrelevant and ajj made les warm and fuzzy because hes jj incarnate. i told shane after the iowa snooze fest that jennings had wr's open and more time to throw than he will ever have again and im afraid he just cannot throw. and that i dont think he would improve based on what id seen, because most players cant drastically improve their accuracy. and obviously the defenses are much much better in the sec. clearly a rather quick assessment for an entire career but it turns out my initial impressions were correct. hopefully our initial impressions on harris come to fruition in a good way if he ever gets a chance. now 31 starting over 52 at mlb? there is no good excuse for me there nor will there ever be. also, I will never forgive les for the 2011 bcs game yet we had to relive that same nonsensical bullshit all over again. there is often no rhyme or reason with les (despite what you hear) and that is difficult if not impossible to swallow. for those who think theres a method to les' madness, please explain 2011 bcs and arkansas games to me so it makes sense.
