Talk about shitty officiating….. Navy - UAB. Navy’s ball. After a (another) questionable spot, Navy has 3d and inches bout midfield. Navy comes to the line of scrimmage, QB gets under the center. A nano-second before the snap (I mean blink of the eye) the official, with the chains, on the opposite side of the field, clicks the down marker, turning it to 1st down, as Navy dives for the “first.’ They get two yards, but as they get up, expecting 1st and 10, it’s 2nd and 8. The 10 yard marker guy was still standing beside the official. They were literally “cheated” out of a down by incompetence. Admittedly Navy runs lots of short yardage plays, and Navy won anyway, but the play run was clearly called to only get the first in a short yardage situation!. I hope this shows up on video highlights. It was wild. I watch very little football anymore, and don’t know if they still do, “C’mon, Man," but this would be a classic.
