Smart over Oeaux? I say yes. I havent seen Smart win a NC, but I also haven't seen him win just 5 games & have to have Major staff firings every season. Were in 1993 right now. We only Hope LSU will hire the correct replacements for 2021, though its been every year 1 & done for either OC or DC or both. Smart is very consistent & brings stability to his program. Oeaux just doesn't on either count. If you want an occassional peak & extremely low valleys, you'd likely pick Oeaux.

But like you’ve said, he has feasted on the weak SEC east. He’s also got a very talented roster. And I’d have to look it up, but I’m pretty sure he’s had some turnover at OC and DC. Can’t argue on him maintaining Georgia’s stability though.
I realized that as I was typing, he's an SEC East coach. I do think he could compete very strongly in the West though. Would he beat Saban, no. Finish 2nd in the West? I think he could. Look at his competition, Saban & nada..that's not just me saying that.
