Kids in 1980, so they wanna be Bama, got it. I guess they remember the Mettenberger years. 20153 LSU 10-3 UGA 8-5. First time LSU had 2 WRs catch 1,000+ yards, 3,000 yard passer & 1,400 yard RB. No "Changing" there. But we lost to UGA that year, 41-45, in a "Chavis special." I doubt they remember getting Pistol whipped in 2011 for the SEC Championship, 42-10. It's beyond me why teams would rather go Tennessee-ya-later-maybe, than win 11 games a season, in search of a Saban clone.
I’ll also add, Ed is 2-0 head to head against Kirby. And neither of those games were even close. All I’m saying, is “some” Georgia fans are growing tired and frustrated. They’ve watched all the other big dogs in the SEC bring home the hardware since the start of the BCS era and their trophy cases remain empty. They’ve also watched Kirby shit all over himself in big games not once, but twice against Alabama. I think Kirby does a lot of things very well, he’s obviously a great recruiter and a defensive guru.
I agree, he did have some nice blitz packages & I'm not against hiring him. Just a feeling I had when Georgia passed so easily right across the middle.
Kirby has lots of company. Personally I think UGA would be crazy to fire Kirby. But hey whatever floats your boat.
Saban is the bar, I’ve seen you say it yourself many many times. Georgia has recruited as well as Saban better than anybody else and they have high expectations because of it. I think most fans believe if you win 10 games a year and every now again you can have that special year and win it all that’s fine. But when you’ve watched Florida have that year, Auburn have that year, LSU have it, and yet you don’t, you get a little burned out. Especially after you watched Kirby snatch defeat from the jaws of victory against the mighty Alabama twice. As LSU fans, we’re well aware of that feeling.
How many coaches has Nick Saban been personally responsible for getting fired? I’ll wait. I don’t make the rules.
That's a subjective question & I doubt that anyone has a definitive answer. I simply offered an opinion. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Not trying to be one of da boyz. Call em as I see em been banned 3 times probably will again. E won't be there this year so will have to see who the next whipping boy will be and if I need to defend him. HAPPY NEW YEAR Tap!
Naw, LSU won it all in 2003, 2007 & 2019. Georgia hasn't. Part of Georgia's problem is that they're in the weak SEC East. The last time the SEC East won a NC was Florida in 2008, 13 seasons ago. I dont know why they aren't more competetive, when they step out of the comfort of the SEC East. I'm not a huge Kirby Smart fan, but he's put up consistently good records. I think he's a pretty good coach. He's not Saban, nobody is.
